I hate how nothing is kept secret anymore because of the guise of internet anonymity. Some things should not be known by all.
how about 85% of the internet is shit! to be fair though: about how 85% of television is shit! about how 85% of radio is shit! about how 85% print media is shit! about how 85% of mainstream culture is shit! uke:
Yeah, this. I hate all sounds that automatically play when you come on a site. I always have sound on and besides that it can scare the shit out of you because of the volume it also is annoying when you can't find immediately where to stop it.
censorship is not something i ever really expected from the internet. Though a majority of kids being online daily wasn't either. People in my income bracket didn't have any tech when I was a kid. We had network tv, vcr, and corded phone till 2000. I still don't have my own computer so I'll add all the fancy machines to my list.
What's worse is that powerful institutions will compile as much information on anyone they want to but have the resources to suppress anything they want too.
i believe that was called sturgeons first law, after ted sturgeon, who is reputed to have said "90% of everything is crap". to which, there is an even quantumly more obscure themnax's corilary that "the remaining 10% does its best to make up for it". i seriously don't love how bizdroidism tries to make everything have to begin and end with little green pieces of paper. nor how much of the internet they've misappropriated doing so. but their isn't any way that's the fault of the internet itself. i do think it could have been done differently, with simpler, more comprehensible protocols. (as a kind of wan of lan's approach, which could be simpler as well)
