In my experience blisters don't happen just because you're going barefoot with tender soles. It's when you're going barefoot on hot ground with tender soles. When the grounds hot you need to have built yourself up a bit to handle it.

However the way to toughen up is to go out and do it. Just remember, if it's hot even if you don't feel it burning you at first, but it feels warm, then don't over do it. Go out for a bit longer the next day and if you do it gradually you could avoid blisters altogether.

But if you get blisters, when the pain of them has settled down they will act as protection, as I said before.

I did it I went out completely barefoot. It didn't hurt too bad the pavement wasn't too hot but the groecery store floor was very cold! Buurrr! My dad thinks I'm gonna get aids by stepping on a needle. Hahahaha... He's not too supportive but oh well he didn't support dreads or being vegetarian either.

Yay for you, welcome to 'the club' :)

I was barefoot all today and have been walking home from college (well the bus stop anyway) sans shoes. It feels great, well except when those evil little stones jab my foot. They don't put me off though. Eventually you learn the most foot friendly routes.
