I consider something like the Final Fantasy games as arcade type rpg's.
What do you play on a console that you feel is an rpg?

You should try something like Oblivian or Fallout 3.
I just installed a new one called Dragon Age from Bioware. Looks pretty good so far.
Did you ever see or play the original Neverwinter Nights? It is based on the Dungeon and Dragons 3rd edition rules, so essentially pen and paper rpg on the pc. Not sure if your familier with D&D or not.
I just always prefered the depth and latitude of character developement with rpg games on the pc, and havent seen it on consoles to the same degree.
    But to each his own.
Do you know if there are any pc versions of any of your favorites that I could check out?

I've got fallout 3 and oblivion on the 360.
Love fallout 3, do not like oblivion, but probably only because I'm so obsessed with fallout 3 right now.

If you can you should try it on a pc to see how much of a difference there is.
I dig Oblivion, I'm like a 21st level dark elf and head of the Assassin's guild, the thieves guild, and Grand Champion in the Arena, as well as I played most of the game as a vampire.
It really does need to be played with keyboard and mouse, can't imagine using a controller. Battles must be tough.

You know I just thought that when I started playing the first Elder scrolls game; Arena, you were only about 4-5 years old. Damn I'm getting old :(

Haha, listen to the old man wax nostalgic.

the biggest reason I don't like PC gaming is because you have to constantly be conscientious of your system's specs
it's kind of annoying to limit games depending on what my PC can and can't do

Yeah I know what you mean. Like I said earlier, that is one edge of consoles, fixed hardware specs.

Well time for this old man to hit the hay. talk to ya later neo.:cheers2:

I used to be madly in love with PC Games. I still do play some pc games.. Like Champions online. Ha. But it just got too frustrating that every month a new game was released and you would either need to buy a new computer or upgrade your old one. Honestly, I think PC would rule the world in the gaming industry if it wasn't so expensive to keep playing games.

Fallout 3 is personally the best game I've ever played in my life.

In this order these are the five best games i've ever played. 1. Fallout 3, 2. Final Fantasy 7, 3. Champions online, 4. Lufia, 5. Forza 2

I think it would be awesome if they would make a RPG where you could control every movement and what not by a character. Imagine fallout 3 in the motion sensored market... :]

i have a PS3, 360, and Wii and PC gaming is so far ahead of consoles in terms of levels of detail it's not even funny

I absolutely loved Fallout 3, it's in my top 5 games of all time easilly, it would be number 1-2 if it came with the expansions out of the box but i paid for the retail as well as all expansions before the goty edition came out..

    Anyways..

I finally convinced a friend how absolutely fantastic F3 was so he went out and bought the 360 game of the year edition, having a few beers at his place i watched him play for about an hour and it was an entirely different experiance from the PC version, the level of detail for PC is so much higher you feel soooo much more immersed in it

keep in mind, when i first beat Fallout 3 i was playing with an older shitty video card that gave me video lag to the point where in hectic situations i could not do anything but use VATS in combat

i updated my computer yesterday with about $500 in new parts, pretty much a mid-high end gaming rig now, playing F3 smoothly is a dream, some screens:

video games are art, are revolutionary, are fucking awesome
but they also condition our minds and bodies in devastating ways.. and it affects society as a whole.
    we are still animals
    technology can be scary

Wow. I tried fallout 3 on my new laptop that can play pretty much anything at high graphics.. and it couldn't play F3. I agree though PC Gaming has much better detail and everything. Why do you think I started playing it? When PS2 came out.. I played it.. then my friend introduced me to CoD 1 online and DoD... I fell in love right there. And i've been playing PC games ever since. WoW sucks. Champions online and Aion rule the world!
