If that's what you think, fine but once again what's your plan? Oh and I can see by your comment that you really didn't read them.

 

Noodle, I can see your frustration, especially if you have a military background, but do you really hope to come onto a hippie message board and change everyone's views by making fun? I do hope you get something out of it, because you're really preaching a lesson most of us just don't need to be taught. There is a wide array of opinions here. Just because we would tend toward nonviolence rather than the ever-popular "kill first, ask questions later" doesn't mean that we have not considered that there are extenuating circumstances, and that sometimes the "wrong thing" is the "right thing to do."
You judge us all as if we are one collective mind. We are not.

 

I'm not telling you the inner workings of my life because I don't know you and you are a bit creepy in the fact that you made a thread for me.

I'm not criticizing your life I'm simply pointing out that the whole "hippies will save the world" flim flam is just a marketing ploy to sell T-shirts now.

I know it was different just a few decades ago.

I REALLY wouldn't for an instant consider you as the person to be as shallow and simple minded.

Again I'm just pointing out hypocrisies in that very loosely established ideology.

 

I'm sorry you feel this way. Contrary to what you believe, though, some of us have attempted to pick up the pieces and salvage what we can. The philosophy is not all bad, you know. Most of it was just supposed to be provocative- to make people THINK rather than follow- to challenge traditions where there is reason to disagree. Free speech- free thought. Why is this so threatening?

YES- I'd like to see you stop but I don't think that's going to happen. I think you are just relishing in all the atttention that you are getting. In my personal opinion, I don't think you deserve it. If you tried the same tactics somewhere else, you would either be ignored or pounced upon and ridiculed. But this is a hippy forum where we believe that there is good in everyone even you Rudenoodle. I'm sorrry that you didn't get all the love and attention you needed when you were growing up. But keep it up: you'll get it here. My heart goes out to you- for whatever it's worth.

Someone makes a thread with my screen name in the title and insults me personally in it.

When I respond to them I'm accused of seeking attention.

All because I disagree with a brain dead ideology and posted my opinion that obviously disagreed with yours.

Not that it matters to anyone else , but , I dont sell t- shirts , and what i say is honestly what I believe , I dont make up cute little sweet quotes , they are not empty words to me , they are honestly how I live my life.
This was how I was raised , my parents were flower children, and they raised me to believe as they do.
If I am creepy to you I am sorry , I dont mean to be.
Im not a pretend hippy , my ideals may seem outdated to you , but they are very real , and current in my life.
I practice what I preach , and I have never belittled your beliefs at all , I understand that you are different than me , you see things differently.
So please , dont make a comment about how my beliefs are only good for selling T shirts.
Sorry if this sounded like another rant , I didnt mean it to be.

I read the beginning of the thread and your name is definitely in there but personal insults??? The only thing that I read were quotes from you. I'm sorry that you are feeling so defensive but I don't believe that was ever the intention. If you ever want to talk to someone heart to heart you can sent me a PM. I am at home all the time: I am recovering from major surgery- hence, I have all the time in the world to give to you.

I'd say those are two major assumptions you have made about someone you know nothing about.

Its cool , and I am very sorry if I ever made you feel like i was judging or trying to push my beliefs onto you.
I really do enjoy reading your posts , they introduce me to a way of thinking I usually dont use , and I like to be able to see all sides of an issue.

I'm sorry if my assumption is incorrect but I thought you're like the majority of people who grew up in this world not receiving all the love and attention that they needed. It has caused a void in most people . I believe hippies are trying to fill that void in themselves and other people as well. They are filling that void with what really needs to go there and that is LOVE. I believe that is hippie nature.

If you believe there is a void in your life that needs "filled" with "love" more power to you, but if your going to ASSUME that everyone else on the planet shares the same "void" maybe you should keep it to yourself.
