    fundamentaly yes personaly no
meanning what exactly? hmm lil sleepy
meanning ok its ok to kill for survivall if theresabsolutely no other way to survive..as in the inuites
if its a kill or be killed situation & u did all you could possibly do to not kill

personaly i would put my body between 2 strangers who were threattening to kill eachother (and have)
i've risked getting bit by a rattlesnake to protect it from being stoned to death
i've killed mosquitos accidently but try not to on purpose
i would never kill a human or animal
i'm not sure i could even if it was acase of kill or be killed
i havent punched anyone since i was 15, yet i've taken several beattings to protect others

yet by christian thinking if u blow up an abortian clinic u go to heaven..& ofcourse i'm going to hell..

ok not sure i answered right..lol yes i supose there are some reasondss for killing better then others
but because an imaginary god (ok lets say hypotheticaly theres a real god) says to kill (even if theresareakl god couldnt we have imagined him telling us to kill?) is not at all a reasonable reason to kill..& take that further to a president who claims to be a good christian yet constantly does evil says its right to kll

in thoses days Isreal was God's only kingdom.Only God could tell them to go to war or kill.Hes God and he can do that. And so those were the only holy wars that were actually holy.

actually the bible says any man who sheds mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed. and eye for an eye. etc. etc. this in no matter means i agree with the death penalty. unless they have 100 percent proof. which means not alot of people would get it......... and just a side note, if you agree with me doesnt it piss you off that scott peterson is on death row(no murder weapon no motive, nothing but a jury's belief) and this btk idiot who admitted to killing those innocent people and basically lied about it for 30 yrs. is just getting a life sentence? i mean come on, what is the deal with stupidness.... by the way i do believe that scott is guilty but there is always that little chance that he is innocent.

did i ever say you said to denounce christ?

honestly, your posts just kinda come off as yelling, the way you often reply to your own posts, maybe its just the way i read your posts

Now you're just grasping at straws buddy. Where in the Bible does it actually say "Rape everyone in sight" or even something similar.

On to bigger and better things: Your pervious argument was that the original texts had themselves been changed and may have originally said "dog" and not "god" for all we know. Have you abandoned that position? Now you are back to equating mistranslations with substantive alterations in the original text. The original text for Exodus 20:13 used the hebrew word ratasch. It has not been changed, it is best translated into "murder" though can also be used to mean an accidental killing. That it has at times been translated poorly does not mean that the original text some how magically changed in meaning every time a poor translation came out.

Where do you get this from!? Look, if you get your definition of Christianity from people who blow up abortion clinics then you really have alot to learn.

Getting your defintion of Christianity from abortion clinic bombers would be like getting your definiton of Socialism from Joseph Stalin.

i'm going to completely disregard that last statement, now as to the rest

i've also taken many a beating while protecting someone else. i've spent most of my life under the fist of someone bigger and meaner than me, and therefore have a very low tolerance for abuse. i can't say that i would never kill a human, and as a hunter i definitely can't say i wouldn't kill an animal. i'm just an animal, after all. but as a mother and sister, i CAN say that someone abusing my children runs a DEFINITE risk of not surviving, and i feel no remorse for that. it's a huge difference from turning the other cheek when someone is abusing you from allowing someone under your protection to be abused. now, i'm not coming at this from a christian perspective, but rather a human one. i don't want to hurt anyone, but i will if i have to. i dont' see how a christian parent could be any different. after all, according to their own beliefs, god placed these children within their care. it's the parent's responsibility to protect them with their lives. as to war and whatnot, well, i do consider that something entirely else. under attack, any animal has the right to protect itself.

we i'm going to ignore proffessors commentssince i dont have a bible to quote from but i thought it was him who quoted some verses just yesterday about god leading hisarmy againsyt some nation or other & god commanding them to lay wasye t the land, kill everyone in sigh enslave the men rape the women & steal all the animals

but kc you are right compleely
however as a good non-christian i would always exhaust every other option when porotecting a child, & if it came to killing being the only option i'd probably collapse theyre wyndpipe or something, that had a chance of being reversed after they were disarmed..meanning i would do everything i could to both protect the child & save the life of the potential killer (u never know he could be practicaly a saint most days but someone slipped him somethinf that made hids mind snap)

What is your major malfunction dude!? I never said anything even remotely like that. Oh, and you didn't seem to have a problem inventing supposed quotes from the Bible before, why do you need a Bible now?

good math there 1 liberall =72 virgins
so why does 50 liberals=80 virgins?

besides, all we have left is liberal virgins

i said i "thought it was you" whicjh in no way negates the fact that the quote was posted in 1 of these threads & it wasa direct quote from the bible (the riginal quote, i'm just giving the condenced version) but my opoint still exists that its there saing to go riseup against the enemies & kill all you see, rape thewomen, kill & enslave the men & children, steal the animals

but like you've said, sometimes you have to disregard some parts of the bible to reconcile your beleif (not your exact words either, so relax)

yeah, i guess that being small of stature and entirely aware from past experience how incapable i am of overcoming your average male, i'd have to say that i'd just go for the gusto. but that just seems like rational behavior to me. what nice things someone did yesterday rarely has any bearing on the abused. the fact that he grocery shops for his ailing mama doesn't make a raped child feel any better. and i'm usually a pacifist. i don't wanna hurt anyone.

Your point does not still exist. Your point will only be vaild if you can prove that a bible passage actually says that, or at least something fairly similar. You can't simply go and claim that the Bible says this or that without backing it up. Here is a good web site
http://www.searchgodsword.org It is essentially a Bible search engine. If you want to prove your point then go find the passage. Should you find such a passage then I will be more than willing to concede this point. Assuming that that passage is God or a prophet giving out instructions and not merely some schmoe praying to God for the destruction of his enemies.
