the japanese will do what they want as usual

once they have made whales extinct they can move onto to another target

what they don't kill this year they will kill next year.

the killing of animals and other defenceless creatures is a way for losing face in ww2. the only thing they can kill now are animals because animals can't fight back. without studying psychology i can only describe it as "limp dick syndrome". this is why killng whales is so important.

being on the losing side of ww2 they can wreak their revenge on australia by killing something that the australians like - LEGALLY. we find the japanese killing something that they don't eat confusing because we don't understand the root for their actions - i doubt if they understand it themselves.

It's the placement of the detonation that kills instantly. The grenade-tipped harpoon weighing 45 kilograms blasts out or the cannon's muzzle at 113 meters per second and hits the neck into the brain. The blunt-headed weapon drives in, four steeel claws are released, a fuse trips, and milliseconds later 50 grams of high intensity penthrite explodes. The line trailing back from the harpoon to the ship strains, and the barbed claws pull open inside the whale, holding it fast. The tail resembles high class beef, with a high proportion of fat.

Living in Australia this is in the headlines every "scientific" whaling season. The Government has been called upon to deal with it and not yet delivered. They are doing this illegally in Australian waters. If it was any other type of fish, or an Indonesian, we would have burnt their boat a long time ago. But hay be realistic, Japan is one of Australians biggest trading partners.

Sea Shepherd members (including me) would agree with you. But where the Australian government is doing nothing, the Canadian government is worse, since it is actively promoting sealing.

Let's build a man-sized version and try it out on a Japanese whaling 'scientist' from Institute for Cetacean Research. There are plenty of Japanese and they haven't been an endangered species since 1945.
