I live in BC, west coast, and grew up in Victoria, which has an awesome climate, warm winters, cool summers, lots of sunshine.

I think of patriotism as an entire different thing, maybe...
Since we live here, and we are citizens of this country, we have the responsibility to clear up our name. Yes, our country is fucked, and "patriotism", in the dictionary-sense of the word, devides the planet.... I don't think America is better than any other country in the world, I view it as one of the worst by far...but I believe in patriotism in an Abbie Hoffman type of way.

I think I'm talking in circles and not making any sense at all...oh well :)

There's only one true type of patriotism... but America has created another form. A naive, contradictory, ignorant form that isn't what it's about at all. Patriotism is about establishing freedom. That, the United States did in 1776 (I'd actually say 1774/1775 because of the Boston tea party and all the boycotts we imposed on England)through 1781 after the statute that Thomas Jefferson declared. They did it again in 1812.

Other than establishing our own country which was pretty damn selfish if you ask me...

This brings me to another (spur of the moment) point. You can view it like any ancient civilization. Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia, even China... it's the same concept now as it was in Mesopotamia. A technologically advanced country with city states such as Mesopotamia. Japan is more advanced than we are, but we're still advanced. Then someday nomadics in horse driven chariots come and take them over... or am I fucking up with hyksos. Nevertheless, even if you viewed Egypt and the Hyksos... same thing.

We did the same thing to Native Americans. It's the same thing as Israel and Palestine only America is on a larger scale and the Native Americans population basically nothing. I believe a few of these (some of them did) people didn't travel here over the land bridge at the Bering Strait. Some of them were here already. They came and eventually it mixed and was somewhat of a cultural diffusion... it blended people behind their times with Asian culture. Anyway... I'm getting away from the point... basically, patriotism is a fucked up thing. You know that. But, in this case... we've gone too far. We went too far a long time ago, but I'm afraid what's done is done as long as we don't continue on living like this. We need to learn to accept the truths, facts, and consequences. All it narrows down to is shit happens and sometimes it hurts. Cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it (about 9/11).

Now, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11... and I believe, in reality, 9/11 was a half assed conspiracy. That's how the government works. They do everything half assed. The planes at WTC were real and the people on the plane had to be real. Nothing much is ever mentioned about the pentagon and the people on that flight. Most people think it was a guided missile. I know one thing, they still have tapes they haven't even reviewed and it was very fishy-like. I assume the WTC was the only attack. The others, somehow, were half-assed exagerrations and cover ups...

Basically, the United States is fucked up, but they'll never learn. I really don't want to be a part of it. If I were you and in the United States and was over the age of eighteen, I'd be in Canada. Canada makes a hell of a lot more sense even though Quebec is a little fucked up and they might not be the best country. The best country, in my opinion, is either Costa Rica or Switzerland... I mean, for god(ses)'s/whoever's sake, they have a wine bottle opener on their army knives... I'd rather live somewhere like that, but I'd never live in Costa Rica or Switzerland... Canada seems more suiting. Better than the US, anyway. They've pretty much got their shit together, plus they're in NAFTA so they can get better paying jobs... now, I don't live there, so I don't know everything about the country, but these are my assumptions from what I've seen/I know.
