while true nothing is def yet and i am also skeptical this wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodstock_2009 has the new slogan for it, "For a green World – It's a free concert from now". we'll see wat happens. the fact that they do have a venue for the berlin show is promising.

I personally would love to see this idea of a 2009 event happen, as long as they can throw in bands from that generation and to commemorate those who cant be there (I.E. Canned Heat, Jimi Hendrix, Etc) they should get a couple of bands that are real good at remaking those songs. A few new age bands wouldnt be bad but im more for recreating the original than making a new one. JUST because I wish i could have been there and to have another just like it would be amazing. Also the only way to make it the same environment is (now were dreaming here) have the state waive all drug laws just for a few days of peace and love. Also now that the farm is for sale someone should go buy it and let all people come and go for free as they please. If i was rich id buy it, host another one with whatever it toook and make it a national monument for all hippies to come see with me!!!! Peace...

 

But woodstock was a one and only thing.
I'd totally just sit outside the venue and play the origonal woodstock on some boombox.
that would be nice.

 

yea i dont think another true woodstock will happen. although rothbury is pretty damn close IMO. but i think the goal of this years woodstock is to more like celebrate the idea and the anniversary of the event instead of trying to remake it, like they tried in 99

 

Dudes, take all the pessimism elsewhere and build an Anti-Woodstock site of your own. The foundation was laid in 1969, now build the house* in 2009 ! Believe.... Make it happen.... It's up to YOU !!!

Well I realize that although it may not be possible to remake the original festival, it may be possible to celebrate a new festival. I think that, and now this is just my opinion, but it would be nice if like once every 50 years we all celebrated a new Woodstock on the original site playing the original music with maybe a few exceptions. Every 50 years, that would just about give everyone a chance once in their lifetime to have the event. Make it a tradition where everyone wants to help out with hosting it so there isnt a big downpour of money onto it. Everyone just says "Peace". That would be nice, but then again i heard someone say earlier that they would just sit outside and listen to the original music on a boombox, that doesnt sound too bad maybe ill be there with ya................ And please guys dont jinxe this event with the memories of the past remakes. I wasnt there but ive heard some horrible stories about the Peace and Music festival that turned to Evil and Fire.

The TRUE lovers of the woodstock festival wouldnt even think twice about kickin the guys ass who did such a thing. LOL
