i think i got around $60 a couple times when delivering around 100 pizzas.

the biggest i've given was probably closer to $10, but then i'm not sure that i've ever ordered more than $30 worth of food at a time either.

I gave a $50.00 tip to my stylist

    I gave a $80.00 ($40 each)tip to pair of server's at a steakhouse.

OFF TOPIC: Just need quick reply: Anyone know why a steakhouse would have 2 server's, I never asked when I was there. It felt like I had to leave a equal amount tip for both server's based on the bill percentage. The bill was $160.00 for 2 people. The service was impeccable by both server's.

I gave $40.00 tip to massage therapist.

I gave $50.00 tip to a door man to get into private lounge

I gave $500.00 tip left on the dresser to my wife (Not sure if that counts, but she was worth it)

Where I live there is a new outdoor mall and they introduced this Korean BBQ place called Gen. I got curious about it and went there for lunch one day. Little did I know that the food doesn't come prepared. They bring you a bunch of raw meat (which you order first) and there is a burner skillet-type thing built into the table. You cook the food at your table! I didn't know that then.. now I have seen it somewhere else too, and think it may be called Teppan or something.

Anyway, I don't know how to cook meat to save my life (this is no longer the case but at that time it was the honest truth). I explained to the waitress that I didn't know what to do. Nice little Asian girl. Helped me through the whole way. Came back and checked on things while they cooked and basically played chef to my table (I was eating there alone!) the whole meal. When it came time to pay the check was like $25 or something but I left a $10 tip because I felt a little obliged having taken up so much of her time and energy.

I think that was the most I ever tipped. Typically I will do 15%, give or take depending on the amount of spare change I have in my pocket and that returning with the receipt, having already paid etc. So yea, usually 15%, but that time it was $10 irregardless.

    Gave 15
Delivered pizza for almost a year most was a bit over 5.
Although delivered to a friend's father once and was late. He made me take off the late fee then gave it to me. So took away about 7 from that.

shit, the reason i go to restaurants is so i don't have to cook myself. what next, a clothing store where you sew your own shirts? a grocery store where you milk a cow yourself? a quick lube where you change your own oil?

between potential skin burns and improperly cooked meat, this restaurant sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

In the event I go out and eat, either I or whomever I'm with tips well. Never less than 20%. Most usually more.

When my brother is here, he usually tips around 40 to 50%.

I don't go out often...not to eat anyway.

Oh yeah - I always tip my hair stylist $20 but then I don't get my hair cut as often as I should. I need to go now.

Indeed. I think it's a weird idea myself. But it was good, and seems to be very popular.

How much does your stylist charge if you dont mind me asking? I'm never sure how much to tip my stylist. I usually tip her $10, she charges $50 for a wash, cut, and blow dry

Might be one of those American things. Although tipping a stylist is a bit different than for a meal. If you are going to see them again you may want your appreciation known if they do a good job. Otherwise next time.....
If you are never going to them again or if they did a bad job you can easily get away with tipping if you don't want to.
My sister been styling hair for over 25 years she said tipping is usually similar to waiters in percentage.

For a shampoo, cut and blow dry, its $30. My "style" is as simple as it dang gets - a blunt cut at the shoulders...she doesn't even have to fool with my bangs. I like her and all but right now I can't afford $50 for about 20 minutes of service....

so I have an appointment tomorrow with my old stylist (my cousin who only does hair on Fridays and is retired lol)...I won't tip her. $20 is more than enough for her 10 to 15 minutes of service.

I am just Way Too Scared to go into one of those walk-in places that charges $10 a cut. I'm afraid I'd get what I was paying for. :yikes: lol

edit: I also meant to say that since you live in a much larger city, maybe that is why it is so much...but I think $50 is a LOT for a wash, cut and blow dry...plus it isn't like your hair is long to your waist. At least it wasn't last time you posted a pic. I think $10 is PLENTY to tip for that.

I think it is an American thing, although i'm not sure why we tip stylists as i think they make a decent wage.

And if the stylist is also the owner of the salon you're not expected to tip.

My local shop charges 13 I usually give a 20.
This is one of those times I just don't get why men are priced so differently but I can't complain
