Hey... Anyone ever noticed when you attack the musical simplicity of something as thrown together as a greenday album the first defence is "IT DOESNT MATTER IF ITS EASY AS LONG AS IT SOUNDS GOOD"
Well if you want simplicity that sounds good, try the Misfits. Something with fuckin balls. That has all your power chords and it DOES sound good. The problem is that Greenday gets stuck in your head and if you play an instrument you may never have read that tablature to it but you still see it in your head. ITS THAT EASY. 5 minutes and an ear and you can tab a whole song.
Spastic the only thing you tend to say is nothing I havent heard before. Everything that spews from you is stupid pop-punk rhetoric. Shut up, Greenday sucks, listen to REAL punk or just call your music shit and move on. You want to be taken seriouslly? Fine, just call yourself pop. Well, my opinion on Green Day is that it is really maybe too easy, but I seriously love the lyrics. I havent read this whole thread, but I dont know if anyone mentionned the song "Misery". I serisouly think that song is a gem. Hence it being my signature. I don't listen to much punk, but a good part of it is all 1 4 5 and pretty much easy, so dont talk them down for that, because well, alot of it is pretty damn easy. The whole "punk" movement in my opinion, was a way to get a message out as loudly as possible, they wanted you to concentrate on their lyrics, and really start riots and getting people pumped and angry. NOT their guitar gods, but if you find a punk band with all that together, I betcha I listen to them, heh heh. But they don't suck, they have their own style and I think its a good match to their music.

Dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks, or even Anti-Flag, all legitamate punk bands and all play(ed) sold out shows. In order to not be a "poser" band you have to not take every single whore money offer that swings your way. Since when has Greenday been political? Green Day is catchy, I agree it's a sorta punk for ppl not into loud in your face punk we see on the underground circut. These guys play their thing and people are more perceptive to that in the mainstream. And yes, they may be ass's but their music is better for your kids then Christina. Not my favorite, not my worst, but when it comes on the radio, I dont run to change it.
My best friend is in the underground punk scene and my other bestfriend is in the underground metal scece. And I dont belive in posers, I belive there are people out to get something, by changing.

No offence but at 14 how much of the underground could you possiblly be seeing? Most clubs dont admit under 16/17 or 21 if they serve and I'm sorry but there are maybe 2 14 year olds in the NA Continent that could pass as 17 with fake ID to boot.
