I used the same one of those crappy locks with a blue plastic cover from grade 2 to grade 12. Never rode my good bikes to school so no one bothered trying to steal em. One day when I was like 17 was at pizza hut buffet and I was the only one with a lock so my shitty bike another shitty bike and my buddies nice bike were locked to a tree. We finished at the buffet and went out back and all of our bikes were gone..mine was about 10 meters away lying in the grass and the other crappy bike was near by. Found a bunch of idiots we went to school with with the nice bike and were able to get it back without much trouble.

I try not to lock my good bike anywhere but my garage. If I run into a convenience store I won't lock it but I always make sure I can see part of it through the glass.

 

i can't do the pizza hut buffet without gorging myself.

 

ya i don't think I've been since then. Only buffet I'll do now is at a sushi place and rarely chinese.
