Moto give it up we all know you are just espousing and spouting crap your republican father and his friends have fed you. The fact that you are supporting a thread started with a shared email by Jay Leno, really gives it away. Jay Leno blaming the media kind of an oxymoron isn't, as he is part of the media. I have nothing against republicans in general but when they try to paint anyone that doesn't agree with them as subnormal and a whiner, is just plain trying to divert the focus without answering the questions or being held accountable.
You know nothing about native american people. And first you counter an argument, that people haven't traveled or seen the hardships in the rest of the world, then you make fun of Strawberry for having done just that. Where the hell is your head, up your ass? You're in the army...why? Because you fighting for democracy or is it that you couldn't find a job elsewhere? Or are we supposed to wave our flags and bow to your heroism?
Why insult someone for serving - ? he made some stupid statements but what does that have to do with what he does for a living?
Serving doesn't earn anyone a pass. And those that chose to serve for honorable motives, don't seem to throw their service up just to make a point. Many never even mention it. He runs down the poor on reservations and throughout the world. They do the best they can. Having those more comfortable than themselves telling them they just need to work harder or attend college, isn't fair to them either. Hiding behind some implied heroic stance because he joined up doesn't really mean much, unless we understand the motives behind his service.
His statements are ignorant we both agree on that. But your statement almost seems to validate his point, All you did was imply he was a flag waving unemployable ignorant drone. He didnt have to bring his service into the post(frankly, it discredits the service). But read what you wrote " You're in the army...why? Because you fighting for democracy or is it that you couldn't find a job elsewhere? Or are we supposed to wave our flags and bow to your heroism? " Is this any different then insulting someone who works at Burger King? I'll leave it at that as I think we are getting off topic - any further and it should be in a new thread.
This thread is basically saying anyone who is unhappy with the president is dumb and spoiled. Its easy for Jay Leno to say that with his Network job and 20 cars and mansion. It's easy to complain about people complining when you have nothing to complain about.
perhaps i am ignorant. i never claimed to be the smartest dude. and i threw the fact that im in the army here because i knew some of you would get all fired up over that. i may not be the best poster or the kinda guy who is 'educated'. i suppose you think im just a dum grunt killin innocent people huh? i think people should focus on some good once a day. what does complaining on the internet accomplish anyway? and yeah, im in the army becuase i came from a place where i had no way out. and here i am in iraq now. well fuck it. i guess some people wont understand the way i feel....sigh oh and oldfart(nasty leg).... 82nd airborne
"i think its very good.....an alleycat, quoting lines in this post then pasting some little poem is dumb." It may seem so if you miss the point. As for going along for the ride, and keeping our mouth shut, reminds me too much of what happened in the 30s.
I don't ever insult anyone that works anywhere. Do you? I ask about motive. Nothing more, and something that should be considered by all. In this age of an "all volunteer" army, we should be asking why they volunteer. Are they actually "volunteering", or are they signing up because they have no other alternative? In a way it amounts to an economic draft.
at least the people working at burger kind are working for their money its better than not working at all.
That's not fair either. Those that join the service because they can't find other work, are also performing a job. A job most of us wouldn't want and one that will probably leave them crippled after the wars are over. I don't discount their efforts and sacrifices, I question their motives for joining. I hope that we understand that their government will not support them when they return home broken and spent.
This is the greatest country in the world because we can complain, protest, and change the government when we are unhappy with it. Again, greatest country in the world, most of the things in the thread starter are true, other than the stats. But while celebrating our freedoms, lets not forget the ones that are slowly being eroded away. And to generalize the poor as crack smoking addicts is is very poor taste. So now you assume that all peace loving Americans will hate you because you are in the Army? Not so. I have served my time in the military, as have many others here. Just because many are opposed to the war, does not mean that they are opposed to a strong military. As for the Casinos, for most tribes, it was the only way to bring the reservations out of extreme poverty. You sound very angry, relax. Oh, and I see you spend a lot of time in the drug forums. Be careful, Uncle Sam is watching. (One of those freedoms being eroded.)
I love you. You said it all. Its portrayed in the media that the good life involves using copious amount of natrual resources, but when you do that, your only in denial.
Nope... But I will always say something when I dont like what I read or hear. Just like your doing... It's a kickass thing aint it, thats why I love this country! bottom line - To me it sounded as if you where insulting the mans service, you made it clear you arent. So I think this is pretty much wrapped up. Can we get back to bashing Jay leno and his letter of half truths now or what?
