On thing about the Rainbow gatherings is anyone can show up and say they are a rainbow, which they are, but you get a lot of people who don’t believe in any rainbow values of beliefs who show up and put on the rainbow hat.
A good amount of the people at A camp don’t believe in any of the rainbow ways they are just there because it is nicer then the bridge, homeless shelter, jail or the alley they have been living in.
The rainbow gathering is a healing gathering so everyone has the right to be there especially the sick people. But A camp does much more harm then good. They do provide security once in a while when a group of angry rednecks comes it is nice to have a bunch of violent drunks to greet them but much more often they harass nice family on the way in and out and drive many curious nice locals away. Basically they start way more problems than they solve.
That is the impression a lot of people have of the rainbow family pulling up to A camp and being harassed by a bunch of shit talking drunks so they turn around and leave and go tell all their friends that rainbows suck.
Yes I have spent time in A camp and have seen this happen many times. Over the past years their has been a lot of effort at the main gatherings to separate A camp from front gate which is good but they still seem to creep in their because it is their favorite fishing spot for alcohol.
Why go to a gathering to get drunk, talk about violence, listen to car stereos, do crystal meth, and scrounge cigarettes and alcohol? Because it is nicer then where you were.
It is a healing gathering but some people just don’t come to heal and never will.

so you have the power to see into everyperson's heart...know their heartsong, their hipstory? healing can take lifetimes.... i would never diss someone because they are struggling with one soul shackle or another....the fact that they made it to the gathering is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

i don't know about you but when my blood family gets together it can get to be extremely intense because although we are family we aren't always on the same page....to be honest some of them really try my patience HOWEVER they are my kin...do i love them? you better believe it. my first gathering, we hitchhiked there and when our last ride was parking the car an old road dawg, salt of the earth type came strolling up and said he was collecting the money cause you had to pay to park there. did i freak out? no...i said "yer funny mcgee!" and kept on walk'n.

i can't believe ya'll are talk'n about trying to exclude ANYONE from rainbow...that's not a very healing attitude. maybe you need to look into your heart and see what's really bothering you about a-camp. perhaps this is a calling for you to work the main gate in wyoming or ocala. there's an ols saying "put yer money where your mouth is" i'm saying put your HEART where you mouth is.

Yeah, your right I shouldn’t say people will never come to heal, that is very negative. I hope even the most mean people will have a change of heart eventually.

For what it's worth, I spoke to someone who passed through Knoxville and was present at that camp when the attack took place who swears that "Buddha" was passed out with his girlfriend at the time.

:skull: The Bar wiill be open as usual in Ocala so if you're scared....don't come by. A-Camp is no place for proper hippies after dark...talk all the sht you want...but back it up. I've been at more Ocala gatherings than I can count. There are as many different views as there are assholes. The gathering is going to happen so come enjoy the weather!!!!
