Anyone is free to do what they want, and I am very happy that there are musicians willing to play in a park for free (though accepting donations). However I think it was a bit rash how people were attacking the person who started the thread. After all, if someone is playing in public it's safe to assume they want to be heard by others. I think the poster was just lamenting the talented musicians he's heard in the park who probably aren't getting much recognition or appreciation for their hundreds or thousands of hours of practice and songwriting.
I dunno what happened since I didn't post a location, but there's a whole lot less guitar players now in this town. I find I listen to the musicians more now though, since lately only the really good ones are playing. But still you can only really hear the ones with amps, or the violinists & sax players or drummists. I'm personally pretty good, but it just gets lost in the din & noise of the city without an amp. I mean the straight spaingers are making way more just panhandling. Anyway, I rest my case: But too many cooks spoil the broth. People get too much of even a good thing, it tends to suck for everybody. Like when everybody is panhandling up & down the street, nobody makes anything. Street people have to be more sensitive to the crowd. :nopity: If I sense it's shitty or the weather's bad or it's April 15th or something, I don't get down on them. Also, once again, THE RICH are usually the poorest givers. Not talking about philanthropical gifts which are tax write-off's & make em feel good for fucking hoarding & enslaving so many poor fucks to get that much for themselves their conscience hurts so they do good once in a while. Now the real estate market is so crazy, their money is all tied up in their homes, which on either coast are worth million$! Meanwhile they don't have any CASH & they do all their dining, etc on credit cards. So, I pretty much believe it when they tell me strait they want to buy something from me but they haven't got the cash on them. Plus who's gonna trust a street artist with their CC numbers when there are waitresses hustling Cc numbers in the the john with wedges & shit. Nobody. It's plain too that the whole fucking world is going or going to go cashless very soon, so we'll just have to ask for barter, goods, food, etc. Anyway, I hope to keep on truckin...
