I'm not going to debate whether or not Maynard is the best lyricist of all time, but I certainly believe he's one of them. Nothing blew me away more than when I learned that the syllables of the lyrics of "Lateralus" match up to a Fibonacci sequence. That's really hard to do, to say the least. The excellence of his lyrics for APC further supports his status as one of today's preeminent lyricists.
