The Alligator People Event Horizon Pandorum From Beyond (That counts as sci-fi right?) The Fountain I was gonna say The Mist as well, but I'm not sure if that counts... I've always been into sci-fi/horror much more than straight up sci-fi....

Andromeda Strain Silent Running The Omega Man Soylent Green 2010 I'd love to see the Rama series made into movies, also Asimov's Nightfall
Brazil Star Wars The Fifth Element Blade Runner Aliens I like Kin-Dza-Dza too - that is a pretty nuts movie, huh? you guys are saying sci-fi and science-fiction are different? i guess i thought they were same thing??
I just watched Brazil last night!!! Fucking AWESOME! I want to take The Fountain off my list and put Brazil there instead. =D
Blade Runner Blade Runner the Fifth Element Jurassic Park THX 1138 Blade Runner. PS - no one that said Star Wars knows what sci fi is.
Because Cronenberg is the man, and it's one of the only legitimately scary movies ever. Wish I had room for it on my list
Cronenberg is definitely the man.... The Fly is another classic I saw recently and loved... I always loved the 50's version as well, but I've always had a weird thing for 50's Creature Features. =D
startrek: the motion picture starwars: return of the jedi startrek 4 planet of the apes 1 (1968) startrek (the newest one 2009) fifth element - honorable mention
My Top 5 (and I've seen nearly every Scifi movie since I was 4 in 1958) Forbidden Planet The Day the Earth Stood Still (original with Michael Rennie & Patricia Neal) Invaders from Mars (the original - so creepy - scared me good as a kid) 2001 Blade Runner (and just about every Phillip K. Dick movie) Ooops, I left one very important one, please forgive me... GODZILLA (the original, god damnit!) That gave me nightmares all my life (even to this day...although they're rare now) I once found a cute little Godzilla squeeky toy. I loved it. I could squeeze it and it would eek like a mouse. That nearly cured my nightmares!!!
I OWN all of them.. shelves full. Good pick of 5,, remember these? When worlds collide. Lifeforce. 20 million years to earth Godzilla meets the mechanical KingKong. and the classic Quartermass and the Pit.
