But still the truth is that there may not even be a God. It may be just a fabricated leader, based on what may or may not have created humanity, animals, plants, etc. Like the primordial soup. The elements in the prehistoric superocean that formed into life. Something had to affect that to create us the way we are now. Or maybe something made us smarter, like the Monolith in Arthur Clarke's "2001". Something like that could've happened to the things that we've come from. Some say apes, others say that we're actually closer to dogs genetically than apes.

Whatever, the story is. I think religion is a practice that is against a lot of basic human principles. But not all religions are bad at all. When it comes to Islam, Judaism, & Christianity, the things you hear the most about their history is wars against each other for dominance of countries. Although most of the time, it's Christianity that starts them. But the religions, I think that really have nothing but good points are Buddism, Hinduism, and a lot of other Eastern Religions. Have you ever heard of a war between Buddists and Hindus? That would sound stupid.

But basically the principle that I live by is this. I choose to live without religion, because it only seperates people. But I choose to live with spirituality, because I believe that there may be a God of some kind out there somewhere, but I choose to follow him in my own way. I believe in Mother Earth and her protection. And I choose to lead a good life. Even though I have issues against the religions, I don't want to go around messing up their symbols of worship. That's just wrong. And I refer to that, because that has happened recently in my area of Philadelphia. And Even though my family raised me Roman Catholic, sent me to catholic school and everything else, I still think that there is more to spirituality and God than the monotheistic religions claim it to be.

 

Oh and to add, I have recently realized that God is Mother Nature, and she is really pissed off at us for using oil. Look at the hurricanes... There's no sin involved at all about the environment.

I didn't mean my statement in the religious sense. I meant it in a factual natural sense. It is a stern possibility that the weather may get worse and worse as the years progress. I mean look at all of the hurricanes and tropical storms that we had this year alone...

Christians are hypocrites. Most of what Christians preach about are the things they go against. Prime example: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."-2ND Commandment.
You 'Christians' carry around your crosses and pray to your pictures of Jesus....what the FUCK? THOSE are graven images, honey. Get with the program. If you're going to be hardcore on your religion and try to defend it, make sure it's a religion worth defending.
It's also fun because Christians get pissed the quickest at someone speaking up AGAINST Christianity. It's fun to get a rise out of Bible thumpers and listen to the profanity fly.

To tell you the truth I really don't believe in God. I've prayed so many times in my life and I've never ever gotten any kind of redemption or solace from it. So I don't think that God exists.

As POPThree13 said, I haven't seen any Christian-morals/beliefs-attacking threads. They are simply CONTESTING Christian ideals, which lead do discussion. The point of threads is discussion, no?

Whenever I see someone holding a sign that reads "God hates gay's", I think "There's no apostrophe in 'gays'". I also think it's a contradictory statement, because I was under the impression that God hates no one. Signs like that are narrow-minded, in any case.
