    Asalaamu Alaykum,

    Brother CatStevens, the Surah's from the Qu'ran that you quoted confirm what I said before, although you may personally interpret them differently. What you consider wrong may not be what another person considers wrong, After all anyone can twist the beautiful words of the Qu'ran to make them appear to be offering support for other religious books such as Hadith and Sunnah which contain dogmatic rituals/practices, when the Qu'ran nor Muhammad (pbuh) offer no such support for anything other than the Qu'ran and the other books and messages from Allah which were revealed before it (in their original forms) through their messengers (pbut). It's important to allow for free thought and discussion , especially regarding Islam and the Qu'ran, otherwise dogma creeps in. A'outhu b'Allah min Al Shaytan Al Rajeem :)

    Maa'Salaama,

    Abdullah

    Wa Alaykum Asalam :)
    Personally! It is about context, Did you read my entire reply;
    136)..., we do not make any distinction between any of them,
    la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum
    [004:150] Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers saying, "We believe in some but reject others," and wish to adopt a way in between.
    wayureedoona an yufarriqu bayna Allahi warusulihi !!
    "and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of hem": Allah has commanded the Prophet and all of the Muslims in this verse to believe in what was given to all of the Prophets without differentiating between any of them when He said, "say: We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us" and finished with, "and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between them." They all come with one same message no one of them came with a different message, so we shouldn't make distinction between them, we believe in All of the messangers, they all were sent by Allah [004:150] Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers saying, "We believe in some but reject others,"
    It is Up to ya anyway[IMG]
    *Peace and love*
    Yours Sincerely,

    Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan:
    [002:253] Those Messengers! We preferred some to others; to some of them Allah spoke ; others He raised to degrees (of honour); and to Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), We gave clear proofs and evidences, and supported him with Rooh-ul-Qudus (Jibrael (Gabriel))...
    *Peace and love*
    Yours Sincerely,
    Cat Stevens
