I feel sorry for you.
You obviously don't understand nor have experienced the real adventure and benefits that can be derived from psychedelics.
It's users such as yourself that help to keep the negative stereotype of psychedelic users alive.
Maybe you should try a good solo lsd or shroom experience some time. You might just learn a thing or two.

I remember tripping with my friends, running around a golf course at night, laughing my balls off at anything.

Or going to a concert.

or hanging out, drinking beer (not that we needed it lol) listening to tunes, freaking out and talking...

not sitting in my room - alone - like a zombie.

It's more interesting than that... I can see how it might appear to someone outside of yourself that you appear to be a zombie. But all the action is taking place inside your mind. It's anything but boring.

Whenever I trip around other people, their presence, their very existence acts as a kind of brake for the trip. They're a living breathing example of reality that can't be ignored.

My ultimate wish would be to take a sufficiently heroic dose while in a sensory deprivation chamber. A trip totally free from distractions of the real.

edit: Honestly, I guess someone who is not very introspective would get nothing from the experience. Tripping alone is probably best for the introverts. Extroverts need not apply.

 

See it is more than just being alone, being alone just helps you to see.

Its about going so deep inside yourself that you actually become the trip, the distinction with the self and trip become one, you are what you are experiencing.

If you and a good friend, can both sit there in silence, and both become the trip together, then all the more power to you.

You need a friend who has no beliefs that will block the experience, they must be totally open, as should you.

Tripping with friends and drinking beer is fun and all, but you are missing out the most integral part of the trip, the transcendence of this normal world, the transcendence of the mind, to see what lies beneath the vail. This experience is way more fun and exciting then just watchin tv.

This is a good tool to use while tripping: IF you are asking, "what should we do while were tripping?", then you are not tripping hard enough. When you are suffieciently tripping hard enough the only thing you can do... is trip! You must be saying to yourself, "I am tripping too hard, the only thing i can do is be here and experience what is happening around me."

 

I missed nothing.

I had moments where I just drifted away and I exprienced the trip. I remember laying on the ground with friends, no one talking just staring at the stars. For a hour or so. But not for 4-6 hours. Alone. Zombied out.

Sorry. Not for me.

Just because your tripping with friends, doesn't mean you're not experiencing escaping the ''normal world'' as you put it. You're still freaking and weird things are still happening. You can't escape it. Again, I missed nothing.

It is a bit long to get all introspective the whole time. When I've had enough learning about the subtleties that keep me from enjoying this life to the fullest, I make music. Acid is the best enhancer of creativity I have yet to come across hands down. Or shit, I do anything Id normally do... Acid takes normal activities to a whole other level... Like.... riding a motorcycle 200 mph on a 10 strip and shit. Who the hell said anything about staring at the wall for 12 hours? Although, I've always wanted to do the Isolation tank thing.

 

So, you write songs on acid for 12 hours?

And you want to trip out in an Isolation tank for 12 hours?

Come on man... I'm going to end it here because I have to go to class. I never said anything about doing these things throughout the entirety of the trip.

Some friendly advice... Making insinuations like that, especially to that extreme, is something you really want to avoid in life. It can create problems for you.

Here's some friendly advice back at ya, wanting to trip alone can create a lot more problems. I don't trip no more. Luckily I stopped, before I wanted to start tripping alone.

That's not at all what happens, you're just setting up a strawman and knocking it down, and I don't know why, since you've never tried it yourself so have no idea what you're talking about. You don't sound "cooler" because you don't want to trip alone, you sound dull. Tripping alone is for those who can handle it, I assure you from experience it is extremely incorrect to say it is in anyway "less" of an experience than with other people. Especially if you took enough .

I'm curious, how did you arrive at this conclusion, given that you've never experienced it yourself? What problems do you speak of? Examples please.

From what you've written here, I too think you see psychedelics as just another way to get high. Some people may look down on that, but I don't necessarily. At least outside of the fact that irresponsible use such as that is what some critics will point to as reasons for keeping LSD outlawed. But besides that, it's fun and relatively harmless...
a giggle fest with friends is certainly not a bad way to spend a day. HOWEVER, it's uses as a shamanic medicine are, for me at least, far more interesting than just something to do for fun with friends. This is what I get to experience when I trip alone. This is, what I feel, you've missed out on and continue to willfully ignore.

 

Yeah theres parts of tripping that are way better when your by yourself, and theres other aspects that is better with people. Personally, my favorite is tripping when i'm snowboarding with perferabbly 2 good friends.
