For some dubstep is to simple and elementary. it is very repetitive music that some people find boring. however I feel that dubsteps simplistic nature is what makes it so easy to to connect to it is almost tribal feel. The bass shoots through your body and forces your into a meditative state.
Also dubstep goes through a series of stages and levels. you hear all of the sounds on top of each other and theres so much going on one minute but then the next the artist has broken in down so you hear just one individual piece of the puzzle until it suddenly disappears again.
Personally dubsteps best use is for flow. I love spinning some poi to a dirty grimy dubstep beat after a few tabs. and when your jamming to dubstep you can just move in ways that are inhuman

All the drum n bass people are switching over to dubstep though, playing dubstep tracks through half their sets. Dieselboy just came out with new Drum N Bass mix where the last half the mix is pretty much all dubstep.

Lots of drum n bass producers hated dubstep at the beginning, but now that its evolving so much and is getting extremely complex, more and more producers are moving towards it. I don't know how you say its simple, it takes like 5 layers of sound just to make one chunky bass line. Then its cut up, switched around, mix matched, criss crossed, squeezed with all different riffs, leads, synths, and pads, on every harmonic in the scale, all in one little package.

In fact since dubstep is slower then drum n bass, there is a lot more room for complex arrangements and designs. Also if you really listen to dubstep, it is not as repetitive as it seems, you have to have to listen closely enough to realize that even though the sounds sound similar, they are arranged in completely different orchestrations and styles, just like in life the same atoms make up every scene in the universe.

^Not to mention what steviejay said, the best part of dubstep, when that bass line drops your body starts moving in ways it never moved before, inhuman, its like a freaking kamayamaya wave just hit you, dance fever on max power!

i dunno it just seems limited in that it all centers around the womp womp. as where a band with a full range of instruments has a much wider spectrum of experience to draw from for their music.

and also not to argue but while the womp whomp waaa whomp kinda noise you generally hear is so common its the inlays of different sound bits and so on that is unlimited you can take any song you want and make it into dubstep

    Shits annoying.

Anything with "trance" in the name, as a general rule, sucks dick.

As someone else said, it tries too hard to be trippy. I want good ass music, if I'm tripping it's going to be trippy, and if I'm not, it shouldn't be because I'm not tripping in the first place.

Psytrance is easily the best dance music on psychedelics.

I know this music is not for everyone either, but Hardcore is like my equivalent to Dubstep, another Kind of obnoxious, relentless form of EDM but at least it's emphasis is on the beat and fun as fuck!!!

Hardcore and dubstep are not the same. Hardcore is just a constant 4x4 kickdrum dance speed sped up to like 200 bpm, this is the kind of music you can really only listen to for 4 minutes. Dubstep is breakbeat, and just as much about as having an extremly awesome melody and uplifting soul, before it reaches its bass booming drop.

Dub music is good sadly Dubstep is quite a fucked up genre full of utter rubbish and how dirty they can make it sound. That bassline is actually really easy to create on a synth as well.

It's a half step beat so half the BPM and thats the speed, IT'S NOT DANCE MUSIC!! If you can dance to it then fair enough but i've been to Dubstep parties and they're awful and it wasn't even due to the bad music it was due to the impact it had on the dance floor. Everyone seems uncomfortable cos they do not know how to dance to it.

Do you like proper oldskool Dubs like Prince jammy, scientist etc?

Fuck that dubstep bullshit. It usually doesn't even have any melody or rhythm to speak of. If you want some nice, melodic, hypnotic shit with bass, then check this out. It's one of my favorite instrumentals ever recorded. Bass + violin + piano = :D

Well go to the city of Baltimore, they'll teach you how to get down and dirty to some dubstep, I never seen a dance floor more poppin.

This probably won't change your minds, but here is more melodic pieces to get down to.

Also if you don't like hip-hop, you probably won't like dubstep, its very influenced from hiphop.

Dub reggae is good and what not, there is some good dubstep that is more dub reggae influenced. Ultra chill reggae beats, with deep bass rhythms, amazing for smoking an blunt to.
