So a ruthless dictator who is former KGB makes more sense to you than the people fighting to give you healthcare? I dont even know how to react. I mean, Jesus...
So Putin thinks what Trump "allegedly" did was no big deal. Why am I not surprised? I imagine that in Russia, withholding aid in exchange for dirt on someone is business as usual. But we're supposed to be better than that. When you don't hold your leaders to higher standards you end up with lower standards. And if you don't think it's a big deal then you're helping to lower the standards.
I mean, and Putin sort of has a vested interest in wherether Ukraine receives that military aid, because it's literally to prevent his country from invading. You know, like it did to Georgia in 2008. Or Ukraine in 2014.
Tip: Just because politicians call their healthcare plan “affordable,” (and “free”), it doesn’t automatically make it so. Think back to the time congress called one of the most anti-constitution bills ever passed, the “Patriot” Act.
Think back further to when there wasn't even Obabmcare, people with pre-existing conditions were just out of luck, and the propagandists called the system "best in the world". We went without insurance, got sick and died, and we liked it--at least the insurance industry advertisers told us we did.
If it’s so great, why is every serving and formerly served member of Congress exempt from it? Government knows best. They say “All good ideas come from government” -Biden Leftism is the PC word for government supremacy
It isnt that great Thus the push for a single payer system But it's better than what we had before. All this is a bit besides the point of you identifying with a murderous ex-KGB totalitarian Russian leader, yes?
So not only did Biden never say that, but it's been said so little, that six's statement is the second Google result. “All good ideas come from government” - Google Search
Allow me to rephrase Biden: Every Great American Idea "has required government vision and government incentive"
The government's laws tell you what to do anyway. What difference does it make to cover preexisting conditions vs. saying no that's not allowed? Don't act like the dominance of government over our lives is something new. The fact is they already do control our healthcare. They just say we have to break the bank getting it. Not everyone can afford it. And you just think if everyone works harder, they won't find themselves in a fix. A guy can take three jobs, sure. Or better yet, go to college and make six figures. The world doesn't need convenience store janitors. And we're certainly not going to pay them more, especially if we have to pay taxes. It's every American's right to become exorbitantly wealthy. The essential principle being we don't help each other. That's essentially what the right has to say, that empathy and compassion are a sign of weakness. And that it's kind of funny how some suffer. It all boils down to the wealthy elite saying they actually like the fact that so many of us are peons, and all of their supporters saying "That's their right." Let's just call a spade a spade. We don't believe it's the responsibility of our government to compel the people we slave for to treat us decently. So the government has no moral obligation to the nation whatsoever. I think we really should be questioning whether the government has a moral obligation to us, because right now the prevailing view, especially among the right, seems to be that it doesn't.
At question being is it moral for a company to take in billions while not paying employees a living wage or paying any taxes that go back into preserving the nation you grew rich off of. People on the right insist we turn a blind eye to this. But if we do, then we admit that there is no moral backbone to society. That's how society breaks down. It's either every man, woman, and child for themselves, or it's a moral authority born of moral actions that compels people to take care of each other. Corporations are proof that men won't be kind unless they are compelled to do so.
Thanks for clarifying. It's weird that Reason article mentions PC's. From inception to the internet, government has been intimantly involved in research and funding of modern computing. And as for phones, DARPA was involved in the development of touchscreens, accelerometers, GPS, and research in speech recognition. Paving the Way to the Modern Internet So while Biden's statement isn't true, that Reason article isn't really either. Or at least is missing a lot of important context.
I don't know what Putin has on Trump, but it's big. It don't look like a business partnership. It has the look of master and servant.
Because they have their own taxpayer funded healthcare insurance that long predates the ACA. Hmmmm.... sounds like socialism to me.
