Since 1947 the Republicans have favored using the United States Armed Forces as the world police force, to contain Communism among other reasons. Now I want to know what changed Y' all's mind?

I don't read it that way. I think it's smart. If all signs are showing that the republicans in the senate will just throw out the impeachment someone should say something.

While it's not her constitutional duty (that we know of) to oversee the Senate, I think someone should ensure that the Senate will behave responsibly. Mitch McConnell essentially reassured republican voters that he has no intention of doing that, or in other words: "run the impeachment trial in total coordination with the White House".

The House Of Representatives has the Sole Power of impeachment. That's Mama Nancy at the present moment. And after McConnell said he would not be impartial and after he and Graham said it's "DOA" … well, I support her effort. Additionally, Lev Parnas got caught receiving a million dollars from Russia to funnel cash to the Republicans. He told the court he works for Giuliani and Trump. Things ain't looking too good for the Trump camp.

The use of a neutral third party or an impartial judge would be the ONLY way the American people felt there was some "responsible oversight" of Senate. Upper chamber members have no business in the lower, and vice versa. It is NOT the House Speaker's responsibility or job to look after what McConnell does - it is McConnell's. If the people are disinterested in his services, take it to the Kentucky ballot box.

Correct. They do NOT have the sole authority to withhold paperwork to get this trial started. They did NOT offer Trump and his constituents witnesses (remember, they were blocked), hence taking away his right to a fair trial. So what right does the House have trying to dictate the trial using the same ideology?

The minority party gets a certain amount of leeway in the Impeachment proceedings. They were afforded all they can expect to receive. He hasn't been tried and we can be almost certain he won't be convicted.

There is nothing in the Constitution about a "third party" or impartial "judge".
The Senators have to swear to be impartial and the Chief Justice presides, but he holds little power as he can be overruled by a Senate majority.
There is nothing in the Constitution about when the House has to present the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

The House did grant the minority witnesses including Tim Morrison and Kurt Volker.
And remember Trump blocked most of the first hand witnesses.

Yes it was run by the majority party.
That's what the Constitution calls for.

Come on Walk, Trump refused to comply with all Congressional subpoenas, ordered his people to NOT testify, filed law cases to prevent Congress from getting his financial and tax records, blocked Bob Mueller through William Barr, claims he cannot be prosecuted or investigated while on the job, used his personal lawyer to pay off porn/prostitutes (money for sex), used his other lawyer to work Ukraine over to damage his political opponent, and he just attacked Iraq illegally without United Nations approval. And you say the House has no authority to hold paperwork? Well, Nancy has the paperwork and she wants to be sure McConnell will comply with Constitutional requirements, not the whim and desire of the KKK.

That's true, but we (the Democrats; which is my chosen party...) I believe tried to present fairly and adequately the case against President Trump; who obstructed Congress, and abused his power of office by withholding government aid from Ukraine, which we all are familiar with by now. And the Republicans argued and tried to talk around the facts or misconstrue different factors... The one that stands out in my brain is the trying to say that second hand information doesn't count! :)
