Your country, my country, most western democracies there is no protection for them getting tried by a criminal court whilst in office. Get a bit of a hit in the polls and their party would vote to remove them as leader well before a criminal trial anyway. Certain convictions instantly disqualify them as MPs

For abuse of power you would have to prove intent. That he withdrew aid for personal politcal gain rather than the broader withdrew so they investigate corruption

Get a conviction in a criminal court you would need something like an audio recording of him saying go after Biden so he has a hard time in the election. Otherwise there would be reasonable doubt

Nothing like that exists, ergo there is no evidence thus there are no witnesses to that


The Mueller thing, at the end of it he said he is pretty sure President is guilty just has no evidence. He was talking about reasonable doubt. Similar thing happened in your country it would be investigated by whoever your federal police are, privately not publically, enough evidence theyd move for a criminal trial. The bit about how much influence 12 russian media trolls actually had is the nutty part

Its the impeachment process itself, they have only used it twice for Presidents, for anyone else it wont get the same level of publicity. Archaic and definately not independant

Sadly no matter how well the democrats layout their case for impeachment Trump will be exonerated by the Republicans, or as Bill Maher has stated...........

Too bad the democrats have been too vocal about this from the beginning. It makes it look like a witch hunt even if it is legit. As a result, Trump will walk. He has too many allies convinced this impeachment is a sham by democrats who just dont like him. Graham and McConnell think they're protecting him. History will judge accordingly
