Cavanagh! You mean one of the men the Republicans pushed through after illegally denying Obama's Supreme Court pick a hearing? Biden? You mean when Biden was asked by the U.S. government, the EU, the International Monetary Fund, Britain, Ukrainian anti-corruption groups, the U.S. Ambassador, foreign investors and other international groups and nations to deliver a message to Ukraine to fire a corrupt prosecutor? Corruption? And that's not counting Trump! Okay so Trump build the wall that he said he would make the Mexicans pay for....Mexico then told NO, so he decisded to pay for it by raising import taxes on mexican goods, which ulitmatly means tha Americans are paying for the wall...NOT Mexico. But yeah he still build the wall (of symbolism some might say) after all a wall only makes it slightly harder for illegal imigrants to enter in to the country.
They seem to do a reasonable job of keeping the peasants out of the Vatican. Then there's that wall between India and Pakistan, it works beautifully. Remember the avocado shortage that never happened?
Trump is a narcissitic person. Racist and has a self importance about himself everywhere. A disgusting person to have running your country.
"Racism is not dead, but it is on life support — kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as racists.” -Thomas Sowell
If you need it explained to you, your clearly not paying attention or are just willfully ignorant anyway...
Thomas Sowell also called a group of blacks who were protesting a cross being burnt on the lawn of a black women's dorm at Cornell "hoodlums".
India and Pakistan are in a cold war, and have almost no trade. I wouldn't exactly call that working beautifully.
But, we're not in a cold war with Mexico. They're our second biggest trading partner. I'm in Mexico today. What may be nessecary during a cold war between India and Pakistan would be costly to us and our ally & second largest trading partner.
Despite the fact that more Mexican people are moving south of the border and not north, and the fact that the largest group of undocumented immigrants in the US are in fact the white percieved "model minorities" of Asian descent, not only does his wall make even less sense than before, it also comes across as completely racist against Latinx people.
I'm an American outlaw, and I got here just fine. Aboard a big metal bird. Really I'm just fleeing winter.
Their problem is a war. Our problem is not, but either way uninvited interlopers are not wanted. Much like gated communities. People buy into them so they can insulate themselves from all but the people they want to be around. Sure, it's an arrogant example, but it's not a specific conflict. It's there to prevent conflicts, to a measured degree. What it is not, is racism. Unless, of course, the wall\fence has "white only" signs every 20 feet.
Except that people who dont live in fear dont have to pay for those gated communities. But if I dont support the wall I still pay for it. So the analogy is flawed. Sounds a little libertarian but if you want the wall, you pay for it. For those of us who see the wall as both unnecessary and ineffective, we dont partly for it. Imagine raising taxes on ONLY those who support the wall, then we'll see who REALLY supports it
To the title of the thread, I have a feeling that he does have racist leanings at the very least. What I mean by that is, he certainly isn't doing any favors to individuals who need asylum. Stuff like that makes it pretty obvious. he seems to feel they are some kind of danger to the very fabric of the space time continuum of America. I don't agree. I think compassion in our leadership would go leaps and bounds toward "cultural pluralism" . And by not setting a compassionate example in the case of asylum seekers or refugees, he is by default something. I'd say he is sharing a fence with racism if not out and out racist for holding those opinions, and acting on them makes it 9 times worse...
That was the promise he made. But then the conservative president realized that wasn't reality and diverted of billions of tax payer money to pay for it. Youd think his supporters would be upset that he violated an institution they claim to not only support but understand. Dude spends more money and wields more executive power than any democrat and is still embraced by the group that claims to support small government and fiscal responsibility. I dont get it
