At the beginning stage or stages of final authoritarian control of a country, I'm sure that objections were raised, perhaps by millions of citizens, demonstrations were undoubtedly also held by concerned citizens, legislators spoke out in ways that

were seen as harsh by the burgeoning oligarchy / authoritarians and soon became threats to those in a free news media and other outspoken citizens and legislators. As has been seen and of course is being seen right now in our country----

there have always been and there will always be useful idiots who will serve aspiring authoritarians with words, threats and definitely violence. Goons are always available. Look at the films of Kim Jong Un and crowds applauding him like trained seals after decades of

family rule there as a worshiped / feared figure. It's the result of total mental and physical control exerted over time and their citizens damn well know better than to criticize him or the government that will exact vengeance on them for doing so.

Many authoritarian countries have the thousands of citizens who "disappeared" for having the courage to speak out against their 'leaders. " Other just "disappear " into a prison system, never to be heard from again. In Russia, dissidents

mysteriously fall out of windows or are poisoned for speaking or acting out against the authoritarians. AND---it all starts with a megalomaniac like we have just elected here. We, of course have not gotten to the extremes of a fully matured authoritarian

government --however---there are the unmistakable signs , such as the weakening of one of our political parties into complete cowardice against the whims and desires of our aspiring authoritarian "leader." So weakened in fact, that they are now

nominating totally unfit people for major positions in government . They have proven to be cowards and are willing to sell this country out so that they will not get attacked by a near useless, narcissist for whom life means nothing except when

he can gain from it. This part of which I speak has now even introduced a bill that will allow him to run for a third term. This headlong rush into handing this country to over to a disruptive, known criminal is on the way to fruition.

We're just gonna sit back and take it---RIGHT? We're going to keep voting for republicans --RIGHT? WE don't care if the constitution is thrown out---RIGHT? The press is the enemy of the people---RIGHT? The Billionaires are gonna take care of us--right?

I know it's true because they said so--RIGHT? And don't pay to much attention to what our "leader "says . Just make sure to: BUY MORE. BUY MORE NOW!!

You reminded me something I wanted to say. Not all rich presidents are bad. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933-45) was born into wealth and lived a pampered, spoiled life. But he lived his life in service of the poor. He and his wife Eleanor used to visit the poor and support charities for the poor. (Eleanor then became our ambassador to the UN where she became a champion of human rights, helping pass things like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948.) And when he became president he passed laws which had the federal government take an unprecedented role in helping the poor, and he raised taxes on the rich.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was always a hero of mine, and so is his wife.

    WOOHOO!!!! Promises made--Promises kept.

The mass deportations have begun. Nearly 1,000 arrests in a day as Trump's promise of mass deportations ramps up- live updates

Although it really not "Mass Deportations" when you consider the estimated 4-5 thousand illegal immigrants a day that came into the US under Biden/ Harris. I'm sure ICE will get better at this a s they've been out of practice for four years.

Maybe until then they can kick out some of our "Undesirables" and "Garbage " too.

Pretty much the same complaint the Democrats had when the slaves were freed.
