So I take it you're OK with having your tax money spent trying to save the lives of people who are so stupid as to ignore the whole medical field, go out and leave their masks at home, mix around in crowds, and maybe end up in an ICU or emergency room?? For surely sounding like a Republican ………. you sure aren't too stringent with how your tax money gets wasted on idiots that ought to know better.

Your scary-sounding opening comments have me scared to death. My hard-hat nearly shook off my head.

Ok, I gotta' answer this nonsense. Therefore:

Your precious "medical field" is telling folks this whole thing is a steaming pile of lies and crap.
Fauci is telling people the masks aren't going to protect you and are worthless.
Local medical personnel are telling everyone the masks don't work and are worthless.
Local and federal "experts" are telling you that staying in your homes isn't helping.

Shall I go on...? Have you not been paying attention recently?

As for how my tax dollars are being spent; I think we could do a whole lot better than having a Gates partner and cronie in our nation's capitol giving worthless advice to our President. I think we can do a whole lot better than listen to someone like Gates, who's vaccine program has injured and killed a whole lot of people over in Africa. Or have you also not been paying attention to this? Fauci and Gates are in bed together on this, and fauci shouldn't be anywhere near Trump's side. He's a "bad actor". Bad source. Bad player. A plant. He's the last person I'd be inclined to listen to in light of his connection to Gates and the Gates foundation, especially after giving contradictory advice so far.

In addition, Fauci himself admitted in public that there's no guarantee that a vaccine will work. So why is anyone listening to the likes of him?

One final thought: In light of Fauci's so-called "work" during the GRID/AIDS/HIV epidemic of the 80's one should be questioning his credentials. All of them. And his contacts. There's a whole lot of money to follow and questions to be asked here.

    What??

    I hadn't heard that.

My understanding is that vapor particles are in the air we breathe. The coronavirus is transmitted by droplets riding in the air. They're literally airborne particles.

The mask prevents transmission sort of like a condom protects you from HIV. It acts as a barrier so that if you have the virus you're not spraying it out and if someone else has the virus you're not breathing it in.

    The mask is really smart.

This also doesn't sound true. Are you sure he said that?

Because a vaccine would work a lot like a flu shot works; it'd protect you from getting a full force infection, if any infection at all. That's just how vaccines work.

I have a relative who got the flu vaccine shot, but had a reaction, and had symptoms worse than the flu. This was a couple of years ago. Since then she doesn't get the flu shot, and hasn't had the flu.

masks cannot be a silver bullet but they do slow down the infection rates. then we all agree that complete protection needs a hazmat suit , but a common surgical mask, while not protecting me, can give others a margin of safety in case _I_ am positive but asymptomatic. If _everyone else_ wears one, and this is the point, we can reap benefits from an uniform , disciplined behaviour protocol. In Italy we started to go about our lives in masks and gloves, to carry hands gel and wipers, many of us ditched currency to just use plastic payment and a stick to dial the number, and our numbers went down from 108k active cases to 78k in 2 weeks. I don't believe what the WHO said about face masks, nor why they came out with such advice but in Korea and Japan, where they routinely use them, the numbers speak for themselves. korea, 1k active cases. japan, less than 7k. This MUST mean something.

That's traumatic! & I'm shocked, actually. That's absolutely unacceptable and if it were right now and I were finding out about it I would suggest alerting the media.

I would be scared too. But I'm such a sheep & a chicken... I would be back getting my shot the following year, under medical advisement no doubt.

what are we supposed to do with your solitary anecdoctal case ? too bad for your relative, but few ones will be buying into this "vaccines are evil" bullshit. vaccines have entirely wiped away illnesses that killed millions. if one prefers voodoo and witch doctors, well guys have some nice time in the jungle

Well said. Hear hear! He has a preponderance, as he puts it, of gulls that fly around him. That would be many flocks! Which means a lot of §***!

Obviously you don’t remember the polio epidemic in the early 1950s. Dr J. Salk was a life saver and nobody but nobody turned their back on the vaccine. The whooping cough vaccine was another breakthrough. Unfortunately for me it came too late and I spent 6 weeks in hell at the age of 5 with the disease. I think Gates is a hero and you need to talk to families the underdeveloped world for a realistic opinion.

The anti-vaxers only shred of evidence is a long since discredited study that is certainly not evidence. Masks are not a guarantee but lower the probability of transmission, a whole lot better than crackpot conspiracy theories.

I don't care what you do with my "solitary anecdotal case". I was pointing out a personal situation. I am not against vaccines. Now say you are sorry for assuming something of which you have no knowledge about me.

Coronavirus: US turning on its top expert, Dr Anthony Fauci

The United States is starting to turn on its top coronavirus expert, Dr Anthony Fauci, with prominent voices in the country’s media suggesting he has too much influence.

Dr Fauci, an expert in infectious diseases who’s led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since the 1980s, has been President Donald Trump’s most visible scientific adviser throughout the crisis

    ....
His comments were met with scepticism by some of the senators from Mr Trump’s Republican Party.

“As much as I respect you, Dr Fauci, I don’t think you are the end-all. I don’t think you’re the one person who gets to make a decision,” said Senator Rand Paul, from Kentucky. Senator Paul is also a physician.

“We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other side saying there is not going to be a surge, and that we can safely reopen the economy. And the facts will bear this out.

“I hope that people who are predicting doom and gloom, and saying, ‘Oh we can’t do this, there’s going to be a surge,’ will admit they were wrong if there is not a surge. Because I think that is what’s going to happen.”

Senator Paul said he was particularly keen to see schools across the country reopen.

“If we keep kids out of school for another year, what’s going to happen is, the poor and underprivileged kids who don’t have a parent that’s able to teach them at home are not going to learn for a full year,” he said.

“I think we ought to look at the Swedish model and we ought to look at letting our kids get back to school. I think it’s a huge mistake if we don’t open the schools in the fall.”

74% of the American public believe what Fauci says as opposed to what trump says.

The American public? Or 74% of people that are at home and are going to be bothered answering a Washington Post poll?

2/3 of those geniuses probably won't bother washing their hands, because they are wearing a face mask

    Also;

I think both conservatives and liberals here can agree no one should even bother attempting the sole anecdotal fable to try astound anyone else with the wisdom they don't contain

If Donald Trump signs HR 6666, the ultra-Orwellian Contact Tracing bill. I will pull the plug on my support for him.

Fortunately, I don't think he'll sign it. But I could easily see a president Biden or Hillary signing something like that.
