I've met no one

I'm a hermit, I don't leave the house ever

 

Well, I haven't technically met him, but Bobby Baker (The Tragically Hip) lives around the corner from me, our kids go to the same school so I've seen him many times and a few times he was sitting on his steps playing guitar when I have walked by...

I am probably the only person who hasn't seen Dan Aykroyd as he lives here...

My brother did meet Christopher Walken when he was in the movie "Vendetta" with him...

My hubby works at the airport, so he has seen many celebs....including getting to chat for awhile with Guy LaFleur...

 

I've met not a single, solitary, celebrity in person.

Oh well...

I asked Toni Braxton for her phone number once. but she didn't give it to me.

You know it. Just look at the facts. You guys hear from me almost every day. When was the last time you heard something from her?

 

I've met a bunch of celebrities. It's no big deal. They are just people...like you and me...and just got lucky at one point in their lives. I'm kind of unimpressed by celebrities. Unless it's Johnny Depp...that's another story.

I met the lead singer of Chevelle in a Blockbuster parking lot.

 

A friend and I almost got into a confrontation with Kurt Cobain when I was 14. Stupid fuck.

I also met Sylvester Stallone, but he's not local. He was just in town shooting a crappy film with Antonio Banderas. Sly was a really nice guy. Very much down to earth.

 

how did you almost get into a confrontation with Cobain?

 

A lady friend and I were in downtown Seattle around the Belltown neighborhood outside a few clubs. We were way too young to get in, so we would hang out by the doors and listen to live music while smoking our cigarettes. This is how it happened. Kurt, on his way into one of the clubs, noticed us smoking and decided to give us hell for it, saying how fucking young and stupid we were to smoke. He was sloppy drunk at this point. Well, my friend, being a bit of a smart ass, says, "whatever. you're not my dad. BTW, nice beer breath." Well, Kurt was ready to start swinging at her and me. Luckily, he was with a couple other people who held him back and pushed him inside the club. I didn't even know who he was until a few weeks later when we were listening to Bleach and my friend told me, "that was the guy from that night". Little did I know that he would later become an internationally known name.

 

Most rock stars are. If its any consolation to Nirvana fans he suffered from Manic Depression. That'll explain the sloppy violent drunkenness. Thats a crazy story.

 

local celebrities? i dont know if this counts but ive met a lot of reporters, howard zinn (author) so that was pretty cool, umm my cousin used to coach the Umass mens bball team now he coaches for another college in Phili, lol i met raven simone (sp?) in an airport once, a state rep., and i met Cindy Sheehan at Umass. yeah thats about it

well, i do know a good amount of politicians from my neighborhood, city councilors, state reps, and senators...most through my father cuz he went to school with them.

my high school religion teacher was the lt. governor candidate for the green party last governors election for massachusetts...

 

i met tommy chong, and the cast of that 70s show. but they're not so local unless you live in la... and matthew good, he's more local i guess. there's a lot of really well known belly dancers i've met, but they're feeling less and less like celebrities now that i'm almost as well known among the dance community. that's all i got...

 

I met Kumar (from Harold and Kumar) at the Cambie and did a shot or two with him, just about got in a fight with the band Death By Stereo.

Thats about it.
