It's just another form of the "good-ol'-boy type of network. It's not a matter of when, but of WHO, more than likely. For some, the "insiders", the "right time" is ANYtime, because they've allegedly "earned their stripes", only by virtue of how long they've been here and how many posts they've made. They're a "given", a "known commodity", a "trusted source", so they have carte blanche here, to cast aspersions at any newcomers with the assumption that they haven't yet "paid their dues". It's f'd up. People come here who have perhaps paid more dues than any here would ever know. Hazing is so fucked up. This place doesn't warrant it. In RL, HF isn't "all that". But whatever floats the proverbial boat. Rant finished.

I've seen noobs integrate in the forum nicely if like I said, they're mean at the right time and about the right thing. I don't agree with this 'paid your dues' idea. I don't buy into it anyway. I gauge people according to what they post, not how long they have been here. In any case I consider you to be a part of the family now, if I have any right to say that. For the most part I like what you post. I just think that the meanness that is in vogue here is more ironic and indifferent in nature than what you posted, which really was just a flat out insult.
