OK, what I don't get in this story is WHY did they cops show up?
Why does the mexican have an assault rifle at home?
I know that paramedic union does not allow members to get close to the szene if not 100% secure.
So the union is part of the problem, not the solution!

They served a search warrant at the wrong address.

He was an American citizen, and has the right to own one under the Constitution. I have three "assault rifles" in my house, and AR-15's are actually pretty common.

Government worker unions are always a problem when they're allowed to form because they are organizing against the public. Though in this case I would put more blame on the police union, since it's police unions that are fighting to keep the "war on drugs" going and to shield their members from the consequences of their actions.

What are you trying to say? "mexican"? he was an american.

Mexicans are a hell of a lot more american than those who campaign to keep america composed of european emigrants.... Yeah, you came here 600 years ago, they've been her what, 15 thousand years? At least mexicans are the original natives to this continent.

He had an assault rifle because he was a fucking american citizen, and not ONLY that but an american citizen who had served his country fighting a senseless war because of a political system with it's head up it's ass.

The swat team had medics, and there was a helicopter there. All they had to do was run in, instead of calling him "barricaded. He was shot 60-70 times, he wasn't about to resist. I mean, he wouldn't have survived anyway, but the fact that they didn't even try shows that it was basically a summary execution of a "mexican", instead of any sort of good faith police action. If they thought he was still a threat, they could have easily used a flashbomb, and waltzed in totally safely.

He had an assault rifle and tried to defend his property because he was a hell of a bigger, better patriot than anyone who would defend his being murdered in an invasion of the home of a law abiding american family.

Don't be so sure, remember they murdered a whole building full of people because of slightly strange religious beliefs, because some "informant" told the judge that he knew that an AR15 COULD be coverted to being fully automatic. (branch davidians in waco. i mean, yeah, they where totally nuts, but they had the right to be nuts and have legal weapons)

Let's not forget that this guy had the safety on. They say he "couldn't" fire because it was on, as though he tried or something, but if he wanted to fire he would have fired, he was assessing the situation. Having spoken with military men about their drills and abilities with guns, and knowing of the general excellent training that the US military gives, I have no doubt that he was ready to remove the safety if he felt the need to fire his weapon, you can turn the safety off and fire an AR15 within one second, if you have a reasonable familiarity with the gun. Many drills the army does involves switching fire modes and safe/fire modes.

So, let's ignore the "couldn't" fire because the safety was on bullshit.... he had the safety on because he was showing excellent restraint, and respect for the lives of those murderous burglars. They should all be charged as anyone homicidal armed robber would be.

This story has more holes than the Bin Laden raid.

I haven't kept up with the 'On the border' news in at least 30 days. But last I heard there was a rather large area perhaps as much as 1 or 2 or more?? miles running north to south that was considered to be in mexekan hands. Local LEOs were warning Americans to STAY OUT of these :( UNSECURED AREAS or risk getting shot at and or wasted by folks who might very well be mexekans.:( Apparently these unsecured area were NOT actively patroled by local LEOs
but WERE being USED AS ROUTES to smuggle people and/or drugs.

Common sense for anyone venturing out this way is to NOT VENTURE OUT THIS WAY!!!

If you must to prove to yourself or someone else how tuff or macho you are I would think you'd be as well equipped as our ground forces in Iraq or Afghanistan. I would want a paramedic or 3 on the team, excellent comms and armed to the teeth. Tread lightly. Make out your Last Will and Testament BEFORE you step off.

Who remembers Waco Texas?? Or Vicki Weaver...killed by an FBI snipers 308 round. The round only stopped when it landed in the shoulder of Kevin Harris.

    I just refreshed my memory of Ruby Ridge;
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Ridge.
It seems that the US Government still hasn't learned anything about how to respect the right of citizens of this country.

OWB, they are a 'government'. by definition and long practice, governments don't give a shit about the governed. we exist for their amusement, management and taxation.

    kleptocracy.
