Yep, the late 1980s before we had cable when you could watch scrambled movies on the tv set :2thumbsup:

I remember watching almost 40% of Altered States during those minutes when the screen became momentarily unscrambled [IMG]

My bedroom TV is used mostly in the morning, to check the news and weather before I hit the shower. TV doesn't keep me up at night because the shows after 10:00 are not all that interesting.

    Hello,

I remember the times when later in the evening the German television stations started the ant movies. They go on until the next day ;).

I have a TV in my bedroom, I've rarely watched movies lately. I mostly just watch Jon Stewart and Colbert every night, and sometimes news, mostly financial news. Sometimes I watch shows on my laptop. I'm just watching It's Always Sunny this season on my laptop because I always miss it.

I USED to have a television in my room when i lived at home with my parents. I enjoyed watching television and relaxing in bed. Sometimes it can be a bit of a distraction and you might say, oh let me watch this before going to sleep or something.

I currently do not have a television AT All where i am now.... which i am actually finding kind of nice.

I have a tv in my bedroom, no cable but I like laying in bed watching dvds. there is no tv in the living room. that room is for music, conversation, dancing, cards, social shit like that. my housemate has a tv and playstation in his room.

to the op, why wouldn't you let your partner put a tv in there if it would make him happy? that seems a little controlling almost.

Because it is my bedroom also.

When he would visit, before he moved in, it was a bit of a joke and a topic discussed. I have always had trouble sleeping and I have never wanted a TV in the bedroom. I don't care that there are three others in the house, no issue. Just not in the bedroom.

He watches TV all the time, I should say he has it on all the time. I honestly do not think it is watching as much as it is the noise thing.

I rarely watch TV and I do not want it on all the time. :)

Controlling would be to have change the situation that is not in his favour rather than consider changing things to surprise him with a TV that he would really be the only one watching. The difference is that now I sleep even less than before so I am just thinking that maybe it could work.

It is about compromise in some ways, he did so over the TV in the bedroom thing and I did so by not saying anything when the others are blaring all day long. :)

I don't like having a TV set in my bedroom (set, since you have to have that stupid digital reciever now for regular programming... HAH programming *)), then again, I sleep on a couch in the living room with a TV in it. My parents have one in their room as well and never turn it off. Same with the one in the living room. I don't get it, if you're not watching it, turn it off! I mean, they leave em on when they leave n stuff. It can get really annoying. As for me, if I had a bedroom to sleep in, I wouldn't have a TV set in it. I don't have one in my "used-to-be" bedroom downstairs, but I do have on in the basement den. idk, I guess it's personal preference... but I say, save electricity! Keep TV's out of the bedroom! Or turn em off before you fall asleep or when they're not in use.

(Watch all those infomercials in your sleep, all those subliminal messages have an easy entrance into your brains! Make sure to activate your anti-spyware before you hit the sleep button! HAHA!!)
