United States Federal Government Shut-Down

I know what they're trying, but are they getting results? Remember, these guys wanted McCain and Romney in office. Karl Rove set up a PAC and spent over $300,000,000 in the last election. Every single one of his chosen candidates lost!

Ideally, big business would like to see the federal deficit limit go away completely. Most countries don't have one. Instead, they have an assumption that once they have spent money, the bills have to be paid, one way or another. If cutbacks are needed, those decisions are made before the money is spent or obligated. You know, like a successful business does.

Cause, or effect? After a couple more days of this chaos, I might be ready to do a line or two.

    ;)

Obviously, I know a little bit more about you, than you'd like to admit.

I love how 3 people liked your blame diversion.

That's right- NOTHING is Obama's fault. That's a BUSH deal

Obama has done so much bad for our country, it outweighs the "greater good," excuse.

I know what you support, because you support Obama.
You're allowing his administration to have Unconstitutional Authority to be Judge, Jury and, executioner (Literally.)He already killed a 16 y/o who was guilty of NOTHING. Also, when Obama leaves office, he will have set the stage for total tyranny.

Our Rights were given to us to protect us from brutal governments, like ours. If you support taking these Rights, you support the possibility of government using those laws for bad. Some, are already being used for bad, including the NDAA.

THAT'S why I say you support the stuff, cause at very least, you're just too trustful and faithful, of Obama. So much so, that you wont even look into all the Unconstitutional Laws he signs, all the Human Rights he violates and, all the terror he causes worldwide.

I hated Bush too- But Obama, is Bush on steroids!

    flipside of the same coin.

extremism on both sides has a pretty bad track record of successful prognostication. but hope springs eternal.

So...somebody here doesn't think I'm at an impasse with this guy? I don't know what you've been reading.

I guess the fear is mixed with an adrenaline rush now and then from all the drama, and a strong sense of purpose. I wouldn't want to live that way.

That would be depressing. Always expecting the best from people must surely lead to constant disappointment.

I've said time and time again, that it is the government going over the top, it has happened throughout history; It's more common knowledge than "apocalyptic."

Everything I named about Obama was true, this type of avoidance is why I call Obama supporters ignorant. Obama did kill a 16 year old American citizen for no crime! He also Legalized war propaganda (NDAA,) "Indefinite detention" of US citizens the government "suspects" of terrorism, and, undermines our freedom, with nearly every passing law. Yet, Obama supporters just ignore it; Their not paying attention to what Obama does: Obama is sponsored by the same banks Bush was, Obama has perpetuated the "war on terror" (Unconstitutional ragime change in Libya, threats to Syria, Iran,) has had multiple scandals, lied throughout his campaigns and presidency and, violated our Constitution on Federal Law.

I literally can't believe democrats still idolize this guy as you do. It makes your party look worse than the Republicans did with Bush. At least most Republicans could take some ridicule for Bushes actions; Obama supporters wont even admit to his wrongdoings.

He took an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution, but, he's done just the opposite. But instead of any rebuttal to the truth about him, you just say I'm a "Conspiracy Theorist."

LMAO Are you kidding me? There's a lot of police and military in my college classes. Everyone of them, dislike the government. My teacher was telling us, that we need to stock up on guns, for self defense. People aren't "Conspiracy theorists" for feeling this way, they're looking outside of the politicians lies, at what they actually DO.

I would argue, that idolizing and supporting someone who does bad, is in fact, doing bad yourself. So by ignoring me and writing me off, you support everything I had fore mentioned. You can't have the best of both worlds. Obama has used the NDAA, he fought for it in court, lost, and, reopened the case with a different judge and, "won."

I don't dislike Obama for no reason, he has done many things that only dictators are capable of, and much like you; Goes about his business like nothing's happening. He's a good actor, and you're infatuated by his charms. But if you actually research just a tiny bit, his lies and hypocrisies are all out in the open.

It's not "birther" stuff, or tea party stuff, it's stuff from regular Americans, who are starting to realize the whole US Federal Government system, is a Ponzi scheme!

Yes, Obama has done a lot of fucked up stuff. That doesn't mean that everyone who disagrees with you wants to bend over and spread for him.

This so called 'shut down' should serve as an opportunity to make some spending and budgeting changes that will result in the Federal government producing balanced budgets instead of incrementally larger budgets which require constantly increasing the debt ceiling.
If large spending cuts are not achieved as a result of the 'shut down', nothing at all beneficial will have been achieved.

So it's a matter of either we pay OR "we default the payment" (we have to pay the piper as it would be). Basically, payments to the Bond reserve can only ignore the fiscal policy, and the auditing becomes conflagrant to the extent the U.S. is realized criminal for the auditing that would suite the Right government monetary ideas. As for frugality of a left wing type audit ... how about all those over payed politicians?

In order for the Federal government to NOT default, it simply needs to pay the bills.

Tax revenue continues to flow into the government, and for FY 2014, even if 'shut down' is projected to be:

    Personal income taxes - $1,370,000,000,000
    Payroll taxes - $964,000,000,000
    Corporate taxes - $335,000,000,000
    Other taxes - 319,000,000,000
    A total of $2,988,000,000,000

Eliminating Obamacare the budget would project the following spending:

    Debt Interest - $222,000,000,000
    Defense - $614,000,000,000
    Social Security - $851,000,000,000
    Medicare - $519,000,000,000
    Medicaid - $312,000,000,000
    Welfare and other - $1,124,000,000,000
    A total of $3,642,000,000,000

    Leaving a deficit of $654,000,000,000

Paying the debt interest is a must, and well within the means available. Social security and medicaid, which are funded by their recipients are what should be recognized as true entitlements.
Defense, medicaid, welfare and other can and should be examined closely for where any spending constraints can be applied as the means of reducing the projected deficit, and that would leave us with a number needed to increase the debt ceiling by.

Spending is THE problem, and until that is taken control of the Federal government will only grow more burdensome on the working American taxpayers.

For the Federal government to default, the event would HAVE to be intentional. So we are not facing any form of crisis at all, simply a need to adjust our spending to more relative to the means we have available.

No matter how the politicians and the media spin it, the sky is not falling.

    The 14th....

Section 1 denies the states the power to abridge the rights of citizens.
Section 2 is about the apportioning of representatives.
Section 3 bans those that participated in insurrection from holding public office.
Section 4 is about paying public debt incurred while suppressing rebellion, ie the Civil War.
Section 5 grants Congress the power to enforce the above.

In the most recent poll, 78% of Americans said that there should be a tax increase on those making more than $1,000,000 a year.

You? Don't you have a job now?
