This could be a watershed moment for Palins future in how she responds to the scrutiny of rancid rhetoric. Seems this event might overall castrate her appeal as a poolitical commentator.

Although i don't think it is fair to blame sarah palins stupid map, i think its funny that in light of this incident they now have been called out on it.

The whole thing is ridiculous, Sarah is being treated like the little naive girl next door that just didn't know any better.

But really, how did she not relate cross hairs to gun sights, i mean after all she is a hunter.

She's both. And I say that without one single shread of doubt in my mind.

She knew those were fucking targets. Don't even think or pretend for one second that she didn't know what they were. That's completely absurd.

It was a Twitter comment that she made from her official account. The day of the shooting, everybody went back and re-tweeted it in extremely bad taste.

I don't think she meant it in a violent way - I think it was more of an attempt at wit. If it turns out that her bad puns actually got somebody shot, I'm going to be even more ashamed for the American political climate of fear.

 

People are now being held accountable for the things they say on the internet. Good.

Of course she likely didn't mean that people should literally be met with gun violence. I don't have a lot of respect for Sarah Palin, but I in no way think that she is that callous of a human being.

The other side of that coin is that if one is in the spotlight much of the time, such as she is with her politics and her show, they need to be much more conscientious of what they say, as they have a much larger audience than the average person.

Most people who have been in the spotlight for a long time know that what they say can and will be used against them. Sarah is learning this lesson now and learning it the hard way. Perhaps this will make her rethink the whole, John Wayne, shoot first ask questions later attitude and grow up so that she can be an active part of the media machine that she so obviously wants to be a part of.

If she JUST told the truth, which is that gun sights and gun related phrases are metaphoric and don't mean you can go shoot people you don't like, it'd be just fine IMO, but that dumb bitch is trying to say bulls-eyes don't imply guns? The FUCK?
