is that one for RA in particular? i'm a pretty devout christian, but i make the rational seperation of being an american first, since it's a contract all of us here enter into first. i don't wish to see the church meddling in political affairs, but at the same time, on certain issues i cannot help but vote my morality which is based upon my religious beliefs, such as in being anti-death penalty.

granted clinton did more than a couple things that hurt american workers, but those were more along the lines of bipartisan compromises than part of an idealogical agenda

Try reading the rest of my post there shane, it explains it very easily. Go to a library and look up information on our economy. I mean, I said it already, so there is no use in me saying it again.

It was an insult, and you seem a bit slow if you think I wouldn't notice it. I said what I said because that has happened through out our entire American history. Exaplain how my parents were able to go to the movies for $.5 all day and now going to see one movie is upwards of $8.00. Now, go on, argue more with me please.

    let me rephrase:

Is it just a coincidence that the negative fallout of past administrations' economic policies occur most often during the presidential terms of republicans rather than democrats?

    I highly doubt it.

    was that better?

No, it is not a coincidence. Lets see, Nixon screwed up and America felt those screw ups from 74-77. Carter screwed up and when coupled with a few of Reagans mistakes took us to 93. Bush sr fixed those problem. Then in 93 clinton started screwing everything up again. So now it is evident that from 2001 to present, we are fealing the screw ups from Clinton.

    Look, it's really quite simple.

First, as I pointed out previously, CEO's salaries have increased by hundreds of percent consistently for the last 20 years. Those salary increases come from somewhere - so it is no real suprise that the wages of the workers go down. ESPECIALLY when we consider that presidents like Reagan, BushI, and yes, even precious CLINTON did not defend unions (in the case of Reagan, he helped to weaken them considerably) or the rights of workers. Simultaneously, our government has permitted corporations to use lack of regulations and to take advantage of slave labor and sweatshop labor in the third world, shipping a large portion of good-paying union unskilled labor jobs overseas, thus reducing the availability of such jobs for American workers without college degrees (a majority of americans, by the way).

Government may not be completely responsible for the state of the economy, but it sure as HELL is responsible for the regulations (or lack of them) that permit corporations to increase CEO salaries by 400% while cutting jobs and worker salaries, fire workers who try to organize unions, attack unions and bust strikes, and ship good-paying jobs to third world countries like China and Indonesia (where workers are tortured, abused and underpaid). These countries' governments, in exchange for allowing this cheap labor exchange, are permitted to continue with rampant human rights violations and environmental destruction. In the end, both American and foreign workers suffer, the environment suffers, and the world becomes a more unpleasant place to live for everyone. Except the rich, of course.

Anyone who is not in the upper class who would defend these processes is not just in denial - he is a FOOL and a SUCKER. Hey, RealAm, I've got some REAL NICE LAND in Florida you might be interested in buying...

Hello moron, I go by Real American here. I said this:

Try reading and understanding next time before you attempt to look smart infront of other people.

And yes shane I am serious. You are 19, fresh out of Highschool, did you not take an economics class to learn how it all works? Hit the books man.

hmmm lets see here, all Clinton did was balance the budget and generate the largest tax surplus in history. The republican model of trickle down economics does not work, it has been proven time and again.

Actually dhs, it DOES work! You see, "Trickle Down" is just another way of explaining how real opportunity and wages for the broad majority go DOWN whilst the bulk of the nation's profits TRICKLE into the offshore accounts of the elite few.

    Get it now? ;)

I guess I didn't specify who the trickle down economics work for did I. My bad. Those with offshore tax shelters please take no offense by my oversights. Carry on in robbing of our economy in ways that are not only deemed legal, but highly utilized by the current administration. How soon I forget that what's good for georgie, condi, rummy and dick, is good for all of us. :H

Proove to me how it does not work. Good luck though, even in your sarcastic "I'm the poor man that can't change anything" attitude you won't be able to. "Oh it's Bush's fault I am poor. A few years ago I had money, oh how I loved clinton and his ability to charm.....Now I am broke because I don't do anything but buy useless crap so now I blame someone else for all my problems". You people are old news. Do something instead of crying about it. What have you done to change the economy? When was the last time you went and bought a poor family food and cloths? Give me a break. You complain about the "big companies" and yet you support them just by being online, owning a pc, wearing cloths, eating food. SHUT UP ALREADY.

Hold your horses their buddy - I actually come from a well to do family and have had some pretty good salaries myself in my day. The tax cut Bush made was about the most moronic economic decision I've ever heard of and did nothing to jump start the economy. When the Great Depression hit, did FDR initiate sweeping tax cuts? No, he reinvested the money in job creation. Bush hasn't a clue about this. Last month he was bragging about the 125,000 jobs that were created in this country during June. Ok, well considering that 150,000 working aged people immigrate into this country every month - we actually had a NET loss of 25,000 jobs in keeping with the economy. I shouldn't hold the man credible for his lack of understanding of 3 letter words such as NET though as with his IQ it is a rather low blow. Okay, so 75% of the tax cut dollars goes to 5% of the population. Do you honestly think that that money is going to trickle down from these people? That they're all going to go on huge spending splurges when then stock market was falling? No, they held onto that money despite the low interest rates.

I would love to hear some good decisions that Bush has made concerning the economy because 90% of the economists out there, pin him as a moron.

You are right, we should close our borders. Oh, and I loved the tax cuts. Was a nice surprise to get those checks in the mail. I know, it's all Bush's fault that the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.....funny how Bush can be blamed for something that has been going on for longer than you have been alive.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. Bush has never been to an interview with me when I am looking for a job. He never shook his head at me and said "No son, sorry, you aren't the person we are looking for". No, it has always been some moron in a suit telling me that because I didn't pay a school to learn the things I know I am not good enough. Or it has been "sorry, we have hired all the white people we are allowed to".

Yeah, it must be his fault. Damn you bush, my sink is stopped up, that's your fault too.

How do you know I wasn't a white house intern? :p

You did bring up a good point there though - Bush probably should've been a plumber. He sure has been great at stirring up shit in places that don't need (Iraq), so I'm sure if he applied those skills in a more appropriate place, he could've been a noble man.
