aloe'd again yesterday.... i cut two leaves off my plant and got the gunk out. put it in a blender with some of the english channel i stole when i went on holiday, some tea tree oil and some lavender oil, and a drop of water. dip my dread ends in it and smushed them/palm rolled them a bit to get it to soak in. whacked my dreads up in a bun pretty much until they were nearly dry, and then took them down and went to bed today i noticed white flakes in my hair, which i presume is the dry aloe gunk. i washed my hair using solid lush shampoo bar, and then their 'retread' conditioner. ive been using both of these things for a while so my scalp is used to them i let the conditioner soak for a while, maybe 20 minutes. i always let the conditioner soak now my hair is nearly dry, and the ends do feel more conditioned and slightly softer, and i havent noticed as much breakage. it might just be too early to tell though. will possibly aloe gunk my dreads again on tuesday and then wash again wednesday, and see how the go. only got enough gunk left for one more aloe session, but i could always make more.
I have nothing constructive to say really, as I haven't tried aloe myself, just wanted to say I love the "will possibly aloe gunk my dreads", made me chuckle Love that people here understand things like that - I was telling the boy today that I was eyeing some amazing dreads on a woman (well, on her head...) in the gym today and going through a massive 3 minutes of a dread envy and he was looking at me like I was the biggest (and weirdest) idiot on the planet and talked nonsense. I don't want to know what he would think if I told him I'll "aloe gunk" my dreads
aloe slime. just dont try and explain what it smells like. one person on here said it smelt like a rotting plant vagina. could well be true
