What about getting rid of unwanted spirits? I bought a small white sage bundle and I lite it the other day, but it started smelling really bad and I was afraid my dad would find out and think I was smoking or something. Plus, if I told him I was smudging my room, he'd probably look at me weird -_-;; I dunno, he's a cool guy, but not really into new agey stuff.
It's not just new age. Tell him that you want to be more spiritual and you use it for meditation purposes.
You know...there must always be pathways because the mayan shamans would sit on the pyraminds and tune into galactic wind. they've documented traveling to other star-systems astrally. Which makes perfect sense to me considering the way our souls wander here on Earth. And then when you take DMT into consideration... that changes everything. Montauk (or operations like it with E.L.F) are still in operation (in other places around the world, even california).
Re: Sage... I also have found rosemary most effective in ridding negative energies, thoughts, etc.also. Effective "wash" can be made using either fresh herb. A "sprinkle" using a cedar limb or a bundle of the sweetgrass as the (broom), with a wash made of sage and/or rosemary - of course with serious proper intent. Stalk had it Exactly right with : "Intent is everything. Otherwise you're just burning a plant" I actually love the smell of burning sage, for a little while.
yes, sometimes but even if we're not in the astral realms our spirit wanders reagardless. time and space. there I was in the body of an astronaut, in these plains. Just another time. And read some trip reports about DMT, I could go ON AND ON............. It's taking people to another dimension on a daily basis.
Well, I used sage today and I can feel a difference in the energy of my room. Great stuff. I suppose part of the ritual is to use your conscious presence to help keep that clarity of your space going.
I think smudging works well with a combination of other methods. If you're trying to rid your space of an actual dark spirit, burning sage combined with the lighting of White candles, playing Native American music, chanting and praying, and speaking out loud that you represent Love and fearlessness is a great method. If you are dealing with an evil spirit, the process will have to take place repeatedly. They are very stubborn but will eventually get sick of dealing with the fact that you aren't afraid of them. Love IS stronger than hate/fear afterall.
being native american (lakota sioux) im used to smudging when going to ceremonies and stuff. ive been told that sage is burnt to drive away the bad spirits. and ive been told that burning sweetgrass attracts spirits (good or bad), cuz they like it. anyway thats just some info from my peoples beliefs.
Well, I realize this was an old topic, but I still just have to say this. Do NOT try to rid your home of negative energy with sage. I was living in my former house and experiencing a lot of bad things and was advised to burn sage (yes, with intent). I did, and it was really a dumb idea. Things just got worse - much worse...like I really p*ssed something off.
