Do you not understand what I am trying to say? Lycan means nothing in the english, or any, language. Lycanthrope does. Lycan does not. Lukos means wolf, and is what lycan is a derrivitive from. But unfortunately, mostly for you it seems, lycan means nothing.

Lycan is derived from the word lycantrophe, therefore, you make no sense.

... so why don't you call them a thrope? Same difference, and none of it means a god damn thing. Lycanthrope is one word, not a suppository of two. Also, you keep spelling it wrong.

It's a typo, and still, people can call them whatever they wish. By the way, this thread was created to discuss them, not for you to rant about people's choice to call them a certain name. I'd like for you to get back to the actual topic.

    Thank you.

Why does anyone actually care what they're called, it doesn't effect anything. Whether you study it or not, or wish it was real.. that doesn't change the fact that there are no humans that can switch into a fucking human-wolf. And if there are any lycanthropes or vampires that protest this post, use your life force stealing powers or super 1337 wolf p0w3rs to hunt me down so I can beat the shit out of you and rob you, I need some weed money damnit. /end rant.

This idiotic idea probably comes from heavy doses hallucinogens, just like Christianity did.

That is actually a very interesting point of view. I read very recently a theory about how the origin of the werewolf story could simply be an allegory for drug users from centuries ago. Because in the original concept of the werewolf myth (or one of them), a man in a black coat gave to the victim a potion which turned them into this terrible outcast creature... much like a pusher to a drug user.

Nonetheless, your rediculously stupid violent outburst, CC, shows how immature you actually are, despite your excellent point. If you need some money for pot, get a fucking job, or do some buskering or something useful. And hallucinogens have mainly been to blame for the "witch" epidemic, like in Salem, though I'm sure in some instances it ("werewolves/vampires")could be attributed to drugs. I think mainly it can however be chalked up to religious heresay in the 1600s'.
