lol did the opposite for me, but then again I've never really liked a lot of vegetables to begin with. I'd say if anything it just made me appreciate food a lot more than I used to. I eat A LOT more veggies and fruits than I used to, but still favor my carnivorous diet. LSD gave me balance with my diet.
I think this thread is awesome, before my trips with acid I used to eat a lot of junk food and eat out, fast food was almost an addiction, or better yet habit with my schedule, etc.. Now I think I've thought amazingly long and hard and on this reel of revelations is healthy eating. I will never eat fast food again, I don't even go near tap water and I make it a habit to stay away from fluoride as much as possible. It's funny, for me it all boiled down to the idea of HOW MUCH can fit in such a small piece of paper, which can make you think about everything you eat from then on, what's in your food you know? Also, fruits are a blessing, honestly, no human should resist such tasty treats naturally from the earth, it's beautiful, now I eat more fruit than ever... But on the TOPIC, no, it did not make me a vegetarian, and I would never give up meat from my foods of choice. Also, it's the food chain, it's natural, although it is sad the process, how about when they had to kill with arrows and spears to feed a whole family, makes you think how lucky we are nowadays, and to just turn away from such a thing, doesn't make much sense to me, but vegetarianism does just seem like an emotional thing, I and I see past it.. Peace
do you live in the USA? the meat here that you buy at the store is so fucked up... I don't care about eating animals. I shoot birds with slingshots and fish when I'm out in the wild and hungry, but I for one will not eat a tortured animal that is pumped full of hormones and antibiotics. That's just disgusting.....
Fruits are totally beautiful. They are DESIGNED for you to eat. Plants make fruit specifically for you to eat, because they put their seeds inside them, and they want the seeds to be spread out as far as possible from them, so the parent plant and child plant wont be in competition for sunlight and nutrients. It's nice when you think about it. They help you out, and you help them out.
on lsd i always eat fruits, chocolates, very sweet, tasty stuff on the meat eating note, i had green eggs and ham one easter morning on acid, and it was great lol i dont have any problem with vegetarians, or there ways.. and to be clear, i dont really approve of slaughter houses either, im sure alot of people dont. but i find it strange that people become vegans basically because red meat proteins helped human brains develop so significantly.. and we are hunters, eyes in front, not on the sides.. these days things are different in most areas, but we are the top of teh food chain, if we didnt kill, we would have been killed.. (most likly) but red meat proteins have alot more proteins then just fish or other foods, and well from what i read it is what helped develop brains in the human body to where we are now.
my favorite book, "the botany of desire" is all about this process. how different types of plants use humans to further their existence, and how humans use theses plants for our different human reasons. its a good read if your interested in that type of thing
on my recent trip I needed food and eated some salmon. it provoked an intense predatory response. I felt like I wanted to attack and rip apart the couch cushions and I had more strength than ever, but it was strength to kill and consume. then I ate some cottage cheese and fruit and it was easygoing, convenient, peaceful. the mechanism between my tastebuds and my body's opinion of what I was eating was gone so I could sense the direct effect of the food on my pysche. I think the rastfarians are right; the more meat we eat the more aggressive and fearful we are and the more plants we eat the more peaceful and observant we are. I don't place predators at a lower level, but meat oughta be hunted for, not raised in a box, chopped up and delivered to the store. plus we can feed ppl the food we give to animals that are born and raised only to be eaten anyway
i've read many accounts of people looking into certain grosesque realities regarding meat consumption while tripping on acid, and although i can understand that notion - it really doesn't have an impact on me.
I became a vegetarian during a 2 year break from psychedelics. Going on 3 or 4 years now, I forget exactly. But no it had nothing to do with psychedelics, I used to tear hamburgers up when I was spun out on lucy and mushrooms.
I suppose my reason for still eating meat is because I tend to look at humans like any other creature in nature. There's carnivores, omnivores, herbivores everywhere, the only difference between us and the rest when it comes to this is humans have the knowledge to choose their diet. I think personal choice is the cornerstone of human nature. While nearly every other animal makes decisions base on instinct, humans have the unique ability to choose.
Humans also have the unique ability to clone their meat, fill it with hormones, antibiotics, and they also have the unique ability to farm tortured animals. This resonance is passed on through your existence. Think about it. You want this shit in your body? Go out and hunt, you monkeys.
Well I was once a vegetarian for about a month but that was more of a bet with an ex to see who could last longer doing it since she was the one who wanted to and I was like yea right you like meat way too much. Then after taking acid after whatever amount of times, I felt guilty about eating meat then didn't again for a few months. But meat does taste good so now I do again, But I do still toy with the idea of going back
Unfortuanantly for some of us though, it's quite impossible to hunt daily for our food. If I had the money to purchase land far away from the city and hunt for my food, I would gladly, but living my life in a city and trying to find food that's not bought from a grocery, it's very difficult. That's really one of the only reasons I eat meat from a store. I almost never eat fast food, shit makes me sick. Financial security is one of the main reasons people eat fast food... It's affordable, and I really hate to admit that.
