as this thread was started by someone saying that vegetarianism is for dumbfucks I figure that your complaint jim_w is not really that strong here. :H
So let me get this straight. Not only do you expect veggies not to claim moral superiority, but you also object to them even living their lifestyle on the basis that it can be taken as an implicit claim to moral superiority? Doesn't that strike you as a little over-sensitive?
According to a lot of environmental philosophers, including Kohak (look it up), we ARE morally superior. I'm not claiming that we are or aren't. Read up on it. How is eating meat NOT murder? You're supporting the slaughtering of innocent animals! And studies have also shown that vegetarians actually have higher IQ's than omnivores. So, I'm pretty sure that the 'vegetarianism is for dumbfucks' statement is inncorrect. Maybe we should all look information up before we say such strong statements.
When was the last time you saw any veggie around here start going on about how "meat is murder" unless there was a meat-eater provoking them? I have only ever seen meat-eaters wailing on the veggies, and veggies having to resort to defenses such as "meat is murder" and "we're morally superior." It's not like we go around proclaiming it; PETA does that, and we all hate PETA for the most part. All we do is defend, and you assume we're being offensive, yet these are OUR boards, and you won't find a post talking about how "meat is murder" on any other board.
You mean you don't use your spare time to hunt down any meat-eater forums you can find and give them shit for their point of view? Hey, I do that all the time. I find forums where mostly meat-eaters post and then I jump in on all their threads and complain about how morally superior they think they are.
You know, I never thought of myself as morally superior until it was brought up here. I just thought of myself as someone who didn't like meat. Thank you for helping me see the light. I am better than you all. Gwa ha ha ha ha. Please.
