Yeah I can't wait! I'm glad at least so far they have been growing not shrinking, so I might not have to wait too long :) I think they're pretty cute short but I much prefer longer dreads and I haven't had long hair for years (this is the longest it's been since I was 15 now) so I'm excited to see how they look when they grow.

Forgot to post here for 8 months, oops! Not much new, although I changed the colour. I know I said I wouldn't, but I've been craving blonde hair for ages and I love how blonde dreads look, they seem to be much more noticably separate than dreads in dark hair, usually at least. I don't think they'll be too much hassle - I like the look of them partially grown out with dark roots (I didn't dye all the way to the roots initially even) so will probably be doing touch ups every few months, not the nightmare of every 2-4 weeks with the bright colours. The condition was a bit iffy for a week or so after bleaching, I've been treating the crunchy ends with jojoba oil, the knots are tough enough now they can take it and it's done a lot of good for the condition. Anyway, here's the 8 month pics, 9 month ones in the next post:

And here's 9 months. I didn't feel like they'd changed much in the last month, but looking at the pics there's some definite tightening around the roots. Even looking at how my dreads are today compared to these pics (I took them on the 13th so it's been a week) there's definitely some progress. They're slowing down as they're getting more mature but still tightening up.

^the weird braidy bit on here was just me messing around with one of my dreads that forks into 3 at the tip so I plaited it, they don't usually look like that

I use just pure jojoba with essential oils I add myself (rosewood, lavender and teatree). It's the same blend I use as a face and body moisturizer so when I'm done moisturizing I just wipe off the excess from my hands into the tips of my dreads :) Not every time - usually just immediately after washing and the day before I'm due to wash them cos I don't want them to look too greasy or get too soft and untangly, but it seems to be working pretty well.

Yeah I'm noticing a lot more growth now than I did early on, I never got much shrinkage but they were very slow for a while, now they're growing pretty quick. I can do a few simple updos now which is really nice :)

    Just turned 10 months today!

Not much news - they're a little longer and my roots are getting pretty obvious, I kinda like the grown out look with blonde dreads and dark roots but another 2-4 weeks and it'll probably be too much and I'll touch them up. Have barely had to do any separating this month, just been leaving them alone mostly they're doing really well.

You'll be disappointed with my next pics then, I've taken all the posters/magazine bits/etc down :( It did look awesome but I use the room as my studio for work (I'm an adult webcam model) and the lighting was just impossible with that much black and red on the walls. It's all white now. I'm gonna repaint in here cos the walls are a bit grubby, after that I will probably be painting some cool designs in light colours on the walls though to make it fun again :D And I've got all the bits off the walls in a folder so I might use them in another room in my flat at some point, once I get the place tidied up haha.

11 months! I've gone back to brunette - I loved the blonde but it only suited me with the roots grown in. I decided to touch them up cos they were getting too long and suddenly I just didn't look right and I felt my hair looked unnatural in the bad way not the fun way. So I dyed over the whole lot and I feel like it does suit me better.

Not much new aside from that. They're still growing nicely, and they haven't needed separating at all in the last month they seem to be just behaving themselves and doing what I want which is awesome!
