McNabb is saying he has been told his starting job is secure. I hope he isn't stupid enough to believe that. Andy Reid would start Satan at QB if he showed serious talent in practice.

You don't rush for 1,000 yards in a season missing half of the season, even if you miss it in patches...

As far as underproduction, if you count his total td count of 95 and compare it to his interceptions of 52 then you see he scored 1.75td for each pick he threw... Compare that to Carson Palmer who is considered an elite QB and he has a ratio of 1.59:1... Take Tom Brady... eliminate the statistical anomaly that was 50tds to 8 picks cause those numbers stray the curve... and he is at 1.76:1, just a fraction better than Vick...Drew Brees is at 1.74... Big Ben 1.6:1...

So it's clear that his overall production was only really lacking in pass completions, and as an Atlanta fan, I think it is hard to deny that his receiving corp was not elite by any means...

 

Reid has a loyalty to McNabb, that much truly is obvious... However both of them are on the bubble for their job...

I think McNabb knows the truth of the situation, and knows to be a team player if he doesn't want to be fired any sooner than he probably is going to be. Vick received a one year contract at 1.6 million with an optional second year at 5 million. It's time for McNabb to shit or get off the pot... that was made clear last season.

This is one of those situations that only comes along a few times in a lifetime. When you have to rely on somebody as unreliable as McNabb, you need a backup like Vick, but a guy like him is only going to be content to be the #2 option in some kind of a bad situation that artificially limits his market value. Andy Reid is one lucky SOB.

I gave up on basketball years ago... I follow the playoffs and championships, but there are too many games in the schedule for me to really be interested
