Was it metro where you were a lil space dude with a bazooka? Metrom.. I dunno Also there was this game where you looked like Arnie and you threw boomerangs at the enemy. I think it was "Blade" that was cool. I finished that many times.
omg was this the game i am thinking of? only 385 copies in the USA and i fucking traded it in!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Fortress edit: nevermind, it's only like 4 or 5 bucks on ebay. if anyone has an NES, i highly recommend this game.
The local video game arcade was a popular hang out for kids from my school."Defender" was pretty zappy. You could cheat the credit slot by sliding a thin strip of plastic through the slot very quickly, although I never got into that, other kids I knew did.
I also had an Atari once when I was 8 or something but my real gaming nostalgia starts a few years later when I got more into video games. Unless you count the original Prince of persia which was the only game everyone had on their early PC's and was an excellent way for adults to get me out of the way (unless THEY would need the pc of course) So for the real gaming nostalgia: Duke Nukem Blood Carmageddon First Tomb Raiders Outlaws Jedi Knight Redneck Rampage N64: Mariokart Ocarina of time Goldeneye I loved the one on the first X-box, but I never got into the older games (as I didn't had those consoles). When the one on the xbox got released it was one of the best looking games ever and I was totally hooked on it for the first part of the game. Great difficulty level as well! Never finished it So yeah, I grew up in my early teens with stuff like this :
Oh yes! Completely forgot about Carmageddon and Duke Nukem! Had the screen saver with all the dead bodies falling down to fill up the screen...man, things were not censored much around kids back then (hippy parents)!
I know right! The 90's were awesome like that. My parents just were clueless, so where my mom would forbid me to watch Tour of duty and worse tv programs as a kid I got into twice as much gory and provoking stuff in both music and those early 3d video games
I think it was a superb decade to get raised in. Great music (and other arts and entertainment), great subcultures, great parties, great change in vibes compared to the decade before... etc. etc.! I am glad that I was a teen in those years
This game was so much fun back then! It also looked amazing (in those days )! Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight: Jedi academy: Not only you would find yourself on a mission on the icy planet of Hoth, you could even kill people while riding a tauntaun! What more to wish for
I also played a tycoon back then! Not my kind of game apparently, same with Fifa. Both Tycoon and Fifa soccer games were getting really popular in the 90's already among most of my friends. I did play it a bit but they never became my favs. I did really got into Age of Empires now that I think of it! Especially the second. Also Need for speed 2 (we used to play against eachother on the pc in split screen. One person got the arrows on the pc keyboard and the other had to control his car with the buttons W, A and D or something on the same keyboard  seems we got spoiled since then! )
I just bought the updated version of AoE II on Steam a few months ago and have already logged more hours than I like to admit . Definitely one of my all time faves and still very playable.
fuck yeah! age of empires. i only played the 2nd one a couple times, i played the first one A LOT. here is the disc, right in my desk drawer
Breakout (atari) Frogger Pac-Man Mario Bros Zelda Mortal Kombat (Yoshimitsu) Doom (beat the game but it gave me terrible nightmares) up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A .. start! Did I remember it right? lol Sonic!
Age of Empires II I wish this would be remade. It was awesome. I was never great at it in multiplayer. I'd get attacked before I even had a militia. But it was fun.
