I never got to play secret of mana. Was it similar to evermore? It looks it.
Depends on your definition of epic. I think Skyrim is a little more epic than SNES games. =p
Alas, it isn't as fun though. >.< gameplay > graphics ay.

I was pretty good at capture the flag on Cod2. I had my camping spots and was deadly with a scope. I remember clearly once this guy I'd been sniping all day started getting angry in the chat and was screaming to stop camping. I seen him walking crouching really slowly right in plain view once. Seemed like he tippy toed towards the flag for 5 mins. I just sat in the same spot with the crosshairs on him. He finally took the flag. Bang. Right in the guts, he fell and good lord did he show his disappointment in text. Rofll

only negative thing about the old systems with the cartridges is that the carts are no longer manufactured and most of the carts are now 20 years old. The game save state is actually stored in a small amount of SRAM which is a seperate chip on the board that's powered by a small CR2032 lithium battery and when the battery finally runs out you lose your saves and it wont save anymore. You can replace the battery but it can be somewhat of a PITA to do and you risk fuckin up the housing.

I finally decided to start playing most of these games thru an emulator on my PC..no save issues. I really wanna someday buy one of those "flash carts" that you can flash any rom onto the chip and play in the original system. Emulators and flash carts open up new possibilities to do things that you can't normally do with the systems by modifying the ROMs/memory.:)

I prefer to just play as I remember doing when I was little kid, rather than cheating...I do remember using a game genie tho lol, that shit was tight but still definitely cheating ;) I almost bought a couple old systems on the street somewhere in washington heights a while back and the price was pretty good but I ended up not buying because he was missing the power supply or something like that. It would have been an impulse buy anyway and impulse buys are a no-no:)

People can make thier own movies, write thier own books, i personally dont see the point if you know how the story ends....and every plot twist up till then. Songs are a bit different but not everyone is skilled enough to play a song they write. And games are a combo of all of those things. My favorite games now are story driven and i dont like spoilers. i guess if your making a shooter then it could be fun to play your own game. But one person cant make a game like half-life. And lets be honest how many people here would rather play 'i made a game with zombies in it rather than half-life 2

I remember real sports baseball and real sports football for the atari. Those were the first sports games that had players with arms and legs and a head on top of a body. Before that everything was just square blocks. There was a good football game in the arcade when i was real young. It was a tabletop and one player was on one side the other person on the other side and it pretty much looked like a coaches playbook offense was all O's and defense was all X's. And you used a cue ball roller to control your player.
galaga was another big one. I won a galaga tournament at pax a few years ago. Phoenix was another favorite. The only old one i have never been able to find since i was a kid was Kangaroo. You were a mommy kangaroo and had to knock out the monkeys that stole your baby.
