I think Mister T was saying the Republicans would find a way to fudge the delivery of the mail in ballots?
This was actually just a fun joke imo I don't think voting by smartphone is more secure than in person voting on paper (and get their IDs checked in person). The main problem with in person voting at a certain station is making it easy for everyone to get there. But it remains the most secure option imo And @skip about publicizing everyone s vote online: aren't their privacy rules for a reason? Not everyone in a long shot wants their vote to be public to everyone else. Generally for valid reasons.
Not what I meant... There has been talk of closing down USPS anyways because it doesn't make enough money. I can see them doing this right after setting up a "vote by mail" system. That way they get to stay in power forever... "Oh look, nobody voted... Guess we get to keep our jobs...... doing nothing"
I don't trust the postal system. I moved a little over a year ago and did not receive first class mail that I know I should have received. Also last summer I sent out two checks and a financial form( with banking information) on the same day. None of this mail arrived at its destination. I just don't trust that they won't lose or even throw out mail.
ASMO !!!! The first word in my post was FUNNY! Yes, I know he was joking! Remember, I'm the one registered to vote in America!
Remember, most of the western world can follow american politics and a lot of people have an interest in it, partly because american politics and economics affects us too. That you're an American and me or VG is not seems irrelevant to our involvement in these convos.
And I say it is relevant, because I have a right to vote in this country and I have a right to point out that he often and most of the time interjects himself into our political process. OUR first amendment says I can make my point without any content based restriction on my free speech … enforced by anyone. And the word "anyone" includes non-citizens like you and VG. I understand that American political activity could have an impact on peoples in other places; however, when the activity of these people from other places rise to the point where they declare that I have no right to speak freely in my own country, and must tailor my opinion according to their alien dictatorship, I stand and object. You and VG have a right to your opinion; however, when you tell me how I should speak, or how I should not mention something to someone who has repeatedly mocked members of my Democrat Party right here in America, I'll stand and object. And I'll remind him or you any damn time I feel like it.
What has this to do with foreigners like VG involving themselves in topics that discuss your political process? You sound like he's trying to restrict your right.
Nobody is saying you don't belong in the debate, we simply have criticized your unnuanced and repetitive statements about any conservative in other threads. That is not infringing on your right or trying to restrict it. So yes, I don't understand why you elaborate on that right here. The only one who seems to hint at others not really belonging in the debate is you when you state you find it funny how Australians involve themselves in your political process. Happily you clarified you didn't mean it like that in your last post.
Vote by e-mail or smart phone????????????? ALL HACKABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Paper ballots CAN NOT be hacked, as can electronic votes and numbers. Not every "new & improved" thing is better. When paper ballots were the only thing we had - no hacking, no foreign interference with voting systems from off shore. Election officials from BOTH parties would be at every polling place to see every vote counted so no cheating. Who can possibly "watch" electronic signals pass through wires????????????????? Hacking/cheating is much easier now. And we're "supposed" to be the smartest animals on the planet ………………… right??? Common sense = extinct commodity in the U.S. these days.
I think it's curious that he does it so obsessively with such specious arguments. Since I think Trump is undermining fundamental American values, I wonder about a person who will not bear the consequences of his efforts trying to carpet bomb the forum in this way. With trolls like this, who needs Russian troll farms?
Indeed there isn't such thing as a flawless voting method. However, the envelopes I mail in are not just any ordinary envelope; they cannot be tampered with. The ballots themselves look like they go through a machine like a Scan-tron test sheet. While mail-in voting isn't flawless I think it'll help improve voter turnout.
