And how can you guys stand to live somewhere where a guy can not only stand for office but actually get votes on the strength of his religion? That's fucking retarded!
These don't actually work very well. We have them in England. But then, I don't know what you have instead.
sorry to break it to you honey, but TX voted Bush look though isnt it funny the way things work out... the places they sent those mails to. and who voted bush http://www.cnn.com/index.aol.html
I know Bush got Texas. Everyone knows that. Your house is practically burnt down if you have a Kerry sign in your yard. But the fact that candidates take advantage of us little old southern states because they think we're rednecks and that we have no intellectual integrity at all? That's what sets me off on my rampages of red-faced anger. I'm proud of being southern, but it's people like Bush who make us look like we ARE really hicks.
Each state is different. and Kerry wants to bring every state to the same level if im not mistaken. New York has standardized testing, and the state sets standards for each grade level and makes requirements. If im not mistaken i believe that other states are a bit looser in passing students and I KNOW that in some states the requirements to become a teacher arent strict at ALL! i heard somewhere that I could go south and get a teaching job right out of high school. In New York theres crazy standards and between states you have different degree requirements. I know for example it is required that a teacher in NY has to take an anual test, major in education as well as their subject and it is recommended to take another minor such as special education or something. they all have background checks and stuff. i think thats good. education is important
im so sorry. i dont doubt your intelligence, truly. my dad, stepmom and sister actually live in TX. as well as my 3 stepbrothers. but you see, like im also saying, the reason southern states might be viewed as uneducated is because of the requirements. and im really speaking loosely here b/c i dont know what your requirements are, but i know that some states are very different. and Kerry wants to reform that! and apparently nobody realizes that bush is just manipulating them and using them. Kerry is your friend, TX
Actually, now you mention this, I read an article about it a little while ago: http://www.viceland.com/issues_uk/v2n9/htdocs/trenchcoat.php A good point is made in there, somewhere.
I agree with you there. Especially about education. Anybody can simply get up, take a teacher's exam and become a teacher. Really, we don't require a degree when it comes to teaching, but most teachers do have some kind of college education. Actually, most of them haven't finished college and are going to night classes while they teach. A lot of the teachers don't let us see our grades until the 6 weeks (I guess it would be a quarter there?) is over, and by law no one is supposed to keep us from our progress. With crime, we're a lot stricter but not necessarily better. I, for one, hate that they've lifted the ban on assault weapons, and capitol punishment is just letting a convicted criminal have the easy way out. Just to set things straight, I don't really like Kerry and I support Nader. But as we all know Ralph's never going to win, so I have to hope Kerry wins.
*cries* im looking at ohio county map and it looks like bush is taking ohio pennsylvania is looking close countywise. florida is looking slightly republican... im scared
oh wow. we are able to check our progress at any time. i mean, we can request to and get it no later than a day after. i mean, if the teachers busy or something.
That's the same way it is here... my dad has a kerry/edwards sticker on his car and he's gotten a partial bunch of people blowing the horn and giving the finger.
