News flash buddy, people are now being tortured by the NEW Iraq government. People are being raped by the NEW Iraq government. People are now being killed by the NEW Iraq government. What's the difference? The difference is 2000+ of my fellow Americans died so a different set of people could be tortured, raped, and killed. Not worth it, to me. How about we take care of all the death, poverty, and abuse of personal freedoms at home before going after other countries?

just a point but the Americans dying in the war know that they could die, they signed up for that shit it's not like we had a draft all of them are ready to lay down there lives for what they think is right for our country to do to help another country including two of my brothers best friends who I know very well.

 

But the thing is, they joined the military to fight for the U.S., not to fight for Iraq. The Iraqi people deserve to be free and have good lives, but that's not our responsibility. Especially if they don't appreciate everything that our troops have done for them. If the Iraqi people never learn to be self-sufficient in their new way of life and their new constitution, then all of our troops will have died for nothing. It seems to me that a lot of the Iraqis are still resisting their constitution and living the way that Saddam wanted them to live, like a bunch of militaristicly dictated people scared of leaving their homes for fear of getting bombed by their own people.

 

By the way, I joined the ARMY after the war began. While I was enlisted I knew a bunch of high-ranking officers that did not agree with the war and wished they had not joined because Bush totally disregarded the lives and beliefs of his troops.

 

Not all of them, many people joining up were lied to by their recruiter. This was a very widespread thing too. And as someone else said, not everyone singned up for another country, the signed up to defend the USA.

wow lots of responses but i would just like to say that im surprised that my opionion was respected the amount that it was. Most people jsut say wow ur a fucking idiot bush sux. Im basing my opionion off of what my brother has told me. He has served for 7 months. From what i hear he says every time he iswalking through the streets on partol he is bumbared by gifts and just people thanking him for saving them. But that might olny be the part of iraq that he is in. By the way im 16.
