i am gong to have to agree with you shameless. Hippies have and still are going through a bunch of BS. especially with the PIGS. And todays young generation are using The word "hippie" as an insult. Thats and insult to me right there having hippie used as an insult its not supposed to be an insult its the group or "family" that you fit into . im so disgusted by the youth of today they dont stand up for what they beleive in they have no intentions to improve themselves, or their enviroment. I am ashamed to be part of this generation.

My first husband was killed in Nam by a sniper..my second husband was a DAV from nam and killed himself with pills the vet's hospital gave him..so I do understand what went on for the boys over there..I have been shot in a demonstration when the PIGS (laws) cleared Haight St in 67' the summer of love.. I feed hunders of hungry people at the park and in my back yard free..
When I was arrested for walking down the street minding my own bussiness, my case was the first juvenile case to be represented in a court of law by a lawyer. I set a presidence so you can now have leagel representation..I want you to be awear that I would gladly do it all again for you and everyone that has been up against the wall with the pigs.. Lay off the name calling and you'll make more of an impression.. if all you have is that.. you have nothing..

So you've done some good. Great for you, and you've suffered, and I empathise. But you're still wasting time here defending a fad... it would be just as mature as me arguning with all the kids who don't like jocks or something... its just a silly fad. Some good stuff happened in the 60's and you've done some good stuff, maybe you had some ideal from the 60's thats helping you or something... but its just like a glass managireie in your mind. Its a meaningless dead movement.

My main point of that thread I started was that hippies take themselves too seriously and speak in incoherent metaphors... you've kinda proved that.
