roamy, you really need to learn how to properly quote another post, spell and use punctuation, break your thoughts up into more cohesive paragraphs, and don't write like you talk. If you were to even attempt these small things, you may do a better job of getting you thoughts accurately conveyed. Seriously, if you want the other party in a conversation to fully understand you, it is your responsibility to try and mitigate any obstacles to achieving that end, as well as the party to whom you are conversing. When confined to the limitations of solely the written word, it becomes even more crucial to utilize proper English (if that is the language the conversation is being conducted in) and literary structure in any and all communications. More often than not it is simple failures in communication or comprehension of the other parties ideas that leads to conflict regardless of scale. At times it is more important to lay aside one's own personal feelings in the course of a conversation in order to more fully understand the position of the other party (s). It doesn't mean you acquiesce and concede to their position, it simply means that you are open to hearing it. Your communications in the course of this particular discussion have exemplified the stubbornness, misconceptions, miscommunications, and general refusal to consider that you may not be completely right that fuels such conflicts and keeps them alive. I'm not talking about the specific political issue that you have focused on, but ALL such conflicts regardless of motivating convictions. My best to you and I hope one day you let go of this cancer you choose to cling too. All that hatred you harbor is only hurting you.
just like gangbangers in the street, they often shoot first, so the cops have no choice but to shoot back...fuck the cops but it is what it is.
An excellent example of someone who was seen as both a 'freedom fighter' by some and a 'terrorist' by others. So this is an internecine feud which began 800 years ago?
They have nothing in their whole imperial arsenal that can break the spirit of one Irishman who dose'nt want to be broken. Bobby Sands.yes Bobby,or one Irish woman.:2thumbsup::love:
roamy, I don't know why you quoted my post in yours since with the exception of the name Bobby Sands, they appear to be unrelated. I think the thread applies to terrorism in general, and you've already proven beyond any reasonable doubt WHY the war on terror in Ireland has not been won. The only question left unanswered in the case of Ireland is CAN it or WILL it ever be won? When I was schooled, I was told that learning history was important and necessary to keep us from repeating the mistakes of the past. Today, it seems that history is often being taught in order to continue some of the grievances and retaliate against persons now living for actions of ancestors long ago deceased. These are battles, and sometimes the ONLY way to put an end to such battles is war which is fought to a conclusion. Is THAT what you wish to promote, roamy?
But what does EVERY other person think? While I too don't 'think' THAT is what she is promoting, would she condone it?
hi outt. spoton! again.war makers promote war.freedom fighters fight for freedom from war geared towards permanent peace
i think he missed that. War on terror- why aren't we winning ? Because the terrorists are not happy about us (the west) takin their stuff (oil) from them.
true. but for as long as even one person like yourself aknowledges that true reality hope still lives.its nice ta know not everyone is brainwashed by their goverments.:2thumbsup:
In the capitalistic system in which we live, the degree of freedom afforded an individual is directly proportional to that persons bank account.
^ Where did I make that claim? Here's my claim: Here's what she said about why freedom fighters fight:
I know what she said and was asking HER a question, to which you, rather than roamy answered saying: Neither your or her posts make a lot of sense. Her post leaves me to wonder if she believes that freedom fighters fight wars to prevent wars, or possibly to preempt the opposition from beginning the war? And then you throw in a post relating freedom to the size of your bank account. I've yet to learn what roamy has against those who live in the 6 counties that I believe have exercised their right in a democratic process to unite with England, while allowing the remainder of the Island to govern themselves separately. What is it that is being imposed that roamy finds unacceptable, and how does it impose upon her freedom? I'll await your response telling me what roamy thinks.
