umm he always backs with plenty of current and historical documentation... he's also Atheist so yeah, biased Some believe US has plenty of reserves, always have. Capped Well he's a professor at MIT:book:, what do you expect to see behind him, pin-up girls?
Hello Summerhill, sorry for the delay. But real life sometimes gets in the way … I pretty much agreed with everything you said. But I'm not so sure about the last paragraph though: Again, I see that narrative as the boogie man handed to us by our corporate masters and its lapdog-media. It's more of a caricature than a real person. Also, that terrorist sounds pretty insane to me. Are all terrorists are insane? Actually, your description of the terrorist sounds more like the ever merging corporate-state. How much chance of success does the freedom fighter have of maintaining moral high-ground when her/his opponent has no limit to how low they will go? I didn't think they were. They're outgunned. And really "winning" the war on terror isn't the objective of its designers; the object of this war for them is private profit$$$.
Gongshaman We are not really talking about historical events. I thought we were talking about the here and now. You don't want to provide anything other than old interviews with Noam...so... Who owns or operates the oil fields? Is the majority U.S? - I don't think so. I don't hear Noam actually mentioning who actually owns/operates the oil fields now. Some? Noam? I was only joking. And then he was sitting in front of a shelf full of books
I'm sure they're are many who disagree with this but as I see it, a large problem that sustains this war on terror is our own thirst for their oil; the profits from which do not benefit most people who live there. Maybe if we invested in human minds rather than war machines we wouldn't act like such neanderthals and we'd be further along with soultions.
so you just want the small picture with captions , I get it... Noam talks about a lot of stuff, just trying to find the shortest (better chance you might actually watch it)and most relevant vid for you. put it this way, I kinda doubt shits changed much in the last 5 years. doesn't matter who owns them, it's about who controls the transport regions for one thing. among others, just more conspiracy theory to you I'm sure:coffee:
GongshamanY Your last video claims there is evidence that the state department has files stating control over the oil was their goal. Have you read any that say that? It gives them veto power, apparently. I've just read that Turkey is going to 'control' the Kurdistan oil pipeline. So, where does the U.S factor into that? It seems slightly convenient to say it does not matter who owns/operates - perhaps even buys. I'm also sure Noam thinks that the Iraqi government is the puppet of the U.S. So, he can't really lose can he? All the bases covered. He isn't very specific in the last video. And even less so in the article I provided. http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/2013/04/09/iraq-jordan-sign-oil-18bn-pipeline-deal/ http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/19/iraq-oil-idUSL5N0EV1BQ20130619 So from real life, I see China, Jordan, British companies, and Turkey having major control over Iraqi oil. The Americans must have some strange plans! Edit: What a surprise http://www.chomsky.info/interviews/20051218.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_sovereignty

No worries outthere2 . That last paragragh you take issue with is my own assumption of the Terrorists strategy rather than corporative media narrative. Other than the shock/revulsion effect on the population leading to pressure on the State to concede to terrorist demands, I can't imagine why anyone could see any point in deliberately killing innocents. From my attempts at research it seems that terrorists are no more likely to be insane than the rest of us. Not even in terms of personality disorders or a greater propensity toward violence! I'd say that the Freedom Fighters only real chance of success (I'm meaning in the sense of winning public sympathy for their cause & subsequent pressure on the State to concede) is to maintain the moral highground. The State will always outgun the Freedom Fighter or Terrorist but I'd argue that the former will always stand a much better chance of winning (via, public support) than the latter. As you've mentioned before ,however, the lapdog media plays its part against any resistance to the State. Much of the UK media & the Thatcher Government branded Nelson Mandela a terrorist during the 80s. All the more reason ,it seems to me for the Freedom Fighter to be scrupulously careful in their PR! Yet we know that biulding public sympathy for their cause is not a goal, apparently, for todays terrorists. I don't pretend to understand their motives & therefore their strategy. If I had to guess,I'd offer that many years of being exploited & treated with contempt by the the West has distilled such a deep hatred & resentment that makes ,for them, their actions reasonable. That their concept of Holy War & (to us) exstreme interpretations of Islam gives them THEIR morale justification for terroism. Ive nothing to add to your last sentence other than my agreement.
I agree & would only add that long before the Western search for oil there was the arrogance that was inherent in the'glory of empire' as practiced by the European powers up to the beginning of WWII. The perfectly straight lines that define Iraq , Iran & other countries in that region were drawn up by French & English Ambassadors in Paris, across a map with pencil & ruler, with no native of any of the countries present. But the countries had not existed, they were tribal lands . In total ignorance the lines of graphite cut across tribal boundaries, loyalties & local disputes with no attempt at consultation with the peoples concerned. Then theres the establishment of the State of Israel...
Mmm hmm  :bulb: If we could just convince the entire population of Israel to move to Florida or something, it would solve a lot of problems.
Just a thought Willy we could ask The Proestants in NI if they fancy Florida ? Orangemen-Orange State? Solve a lota probs, apart from for the Floridians tho !
This clip has an interesting take on why & how power corrupts & who the real psychopaths are. My thanks to orisons posting of this in Media section. [ame]http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKqs7GJ0jdY
