They're not Mexicans or immigrants, and I was specifically avoiding getting into their race just to make extra-super-sure no internet superheroes would label me a racist.

We have done the "leave the music on and leave" thing once. With Weird Al's song "Albuquerque". For those of you who don't know the song - it's a long, long, long, insane tune that probably gets pretty annoying after a few hours.

Moving is our plan for when the lease is up, but doing so prior breaks it and results in loss of a hefty deposit AND a fine.

 

If they’re of african american birth (as am I) then I recommend you purchase a pair of ear plugs (to sleep soundly at night) and just deal with it

What do your 'OK' neighbors think of your retaliation? The amp may be facing the opposite dividing wall but sound carries in weird ways. I get the sense you're fighting a loosing war. Just make sure you're not taking down any civilians.

 

Find out if they have a building permit for that wall...chances are, they don't and they'll be forced to get rid of it.

Perhaps he should call National Alliance, they have ready-made cleaning crews which they dispatch throughout the country, to help people like themselves (white) with problems such as this.

well, i do know that the escalation of this bullshit hasn't helped, but surely you've had outrageously rude neighbors, too? people you've never done anything against but they just act like fucktards anyway? i know i have. it's got nothing to with race, assholes come in all colors. but if you're too wimpy or scared, or passive aggressive to do anything about it, you're just going to live miserable.

 

I've always lived in affluent upscale communities where neighbors don't talk to each other, except twice each year when we go through the charade of hosting a block party.

Otherwise throughout the year everyone stays quiet, and to themselves.

I can't...uhm...take the wall down.
It's you know, what keeps our houses seperate? We're in a row as in all connected, 6 or 7 units.

The 'good' neighbors have never said anything, and we don't really see them much.

And before anyone gets into race shit, shut up. I don't care what color they are. There is absolutely nothing to do with race going on here, and that's why I specifically left that part out when describing them.

As far as the neighbors on the other side of them, we always wondered about that. It turns out that there is a small storage unit thing between them and the neighbors on the other side...which I'm guessing cushions those folks so they don't really have to deal with as much.

I'm still not going to break, burn, or destroy anything of theirs. While unbelievably annoying and obnoxious, they haven't done anything destructive or violent.

Yes, right before we move out in many months I will launch a full scale revenge assault that will be designed to keep them awake and annoyed for a full week or two straight. But until then, I need more subtle means.

but, grim, i'm wondering if maybe you give a gesture of good will. maybe invite them over for dinner and try talking it out, like setting up a schedule for when the music gets played super loud? you know, being more diplomatic? i know you said you've talked to them, but your anger and frustration may have been coming out in your body language and voice? i dunno. i say swallow your pride if it's gonna get the desired result.
