It seems to me that the US needed a better healthcare system, I don’t think Obama got it but at least he was trying I haven’t heard of any constructive ideas coming from the right.
One of the things that drives me crazy about the Republican Party is that they never admit to being wrong about anything, no matter how big or obvious. Remember when ObamaCare was originally being debated? They said there would be death panels, where bureaucrats would vote to decide that grandma wasn't worth saving, because treating her illness would cost too much. Now, it's been in operation for over a year. Where are the death panels? They don't exist. As far as I know, nobody from the far right has publicly said anything like, "Oops! We fucked up. There were no death panels in the ACA." Their followers keep falling for the same old shit, year after year, without questioning anything in the past or the present.
The Democratic Party will always exist, in some form, because hope for a better future will always exist. The Republican Party will always exist, in some form, because fear of a worse future will always exist.
Like me - "Your household's yearly income is too low for a tax credit. Generally, individuals and families whose household income for the year is between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty line for their family size may be eligible for the tax credit. You don't qualify for Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in your state." "Based on the information you provided, the new federal health care law provides that you could be eligible for free or low cost health care through COMPASS. However, the state of GA has chosen not to offer you this new health care coverage at this time. You are not required to pay a penalty for not having health insurance because of your income and because the state of GA declined to expand COMPASS to cover individuals in your situation."
It is/was the biggest scam pulled on the American people. They admitted it many times themselves. Nope, no death panels. But people also can't make appointments either or put on the list. So to get to the panel would take you years a day they bank on you dying off so the put you off, that is if there is one. Too many fell for it and it's padding the pockets of the scammers. They just blatantly strong armed insurance companies for a piece of the action. Neither is loosing, just funneled different now and everyone gets a cut but not before uncle sam. Just like 'save the ozone' scam, he walked away from blatant lies while still padding his pockets off nothing but a sales pitch and pictures.
I would have been for single pay with BIG BUSINESS eliminated from the equation. Medical insurance companies have been shit forever. No need to list the harsh injustices they wrought against their paying customers. Well, maybe one--payment refused enough times until people die or give up trying to get their moneys' worth from them. Many civilized countries have single payer----but we're not smart enough to take the best from existing systems and eliminate that which is inefficient? Man on the moon--amazing scientific advances--increasing knowledge of the vast reaches of space, great machines that can see everything inside of us----but we can't get a fair medical system that helps everyone without breaking peoples' lives? Insurance companies need to go the way of eight tracks and voodoo economics.
